828 mkII Backlit Display (light) not working

Anybody see this, is there some known issue,

I have had it since the 828 mkII came out no, issues at all, sounds / records great.

Now there is no "blue" backlit light, you can faintly see the LCD text.

What's up wit this?

thanks

Join the club. MOTU told me they would be happy to give me an RMA so that I can send mine to them to get it replaced. He promised it would be back in about 8 weeks (!!!!!!!). After I stopped laughing I asked if I could give them a credit card, and a get my replacement shipped to me before I send my current one back. No such luck.
I never really look at the display, but would be nice if it was on. Anyways - motu knows these displays suck and will replace.

I had this problem. Called and got the RMA #, sent it in and had a new unit within one week. No problem. I have since sold it for an RME Fireface 800 for totally unrelated reasons. Point is, I had absolutely no issue getting a new unit in a really quick turnaround.

Motu just replaced my original 828mkii (I own two) because of a dead screen. Total turn-around time was one week. They even gave me a 90-day warranty for free (standard) and my 828 was three years old!!!

A common problem this one. MOTU admitted that an earlier batch of MKIIs had faulty LCDs. Mine burn out within 2 months. What hardware version do you have? Is it 1.0, as this seems to occur with these earlier versions and not 1.1. Pain in the ass.
