had to giggle when I first read that - misread it as pose.. :P

man never losing anything would be great, this reliabilty issue sucks when doing basic repetitive tasks. after weeks of not crashing on my mac pro - I got comfy and forgot to save for 30 mins when involved in something. that sucked.

I'll probably try as soon as it comes out - but on a spare partition.

I'm woefully ignorant about the "under the hood" details of Lion vs. Snow Leopard.
I'm getting the impression that this transition will be rough for folks who use very complex setups.....
Like just about everybody here.

I'm running so stable now that I don't want to mess with anything.

My plan is to install Lion on a clone and see what happens.
All is well

Heiii where is my lawyer,.. ah ah ah I see a lot of reaction

Shoosie don't take it bad , I 'm a truelly DP user since a long a time and love to try and test things, and it sometimes help to test stuff on other Daw to understand where the problem is coming from ,.... as there are some bugs in DP,...

And by the way there is a lot of answer in motunation (thanks james) so don't need to write too many post ....

.... but for THIS you decided to come here?

Yes I did ! Lion will be the next operating system, so we'll all end up on that for sure,.....as soon as DP goes 64 bit :-))

keep the faith !!

Ok. My apologies. I just explained to someone recently that we all have our moments of distrust or doubt, and I included myself. This was such a moment, I guess. I'll take your word that you had great intentions.

I extend my apologies,

oh yeah and its not like it tells you it autosaves.. hello a beachball? is that the best they can do?
I realize that it's just your opinion. Even though it really isn't presented very eloquently. Oh... and I'll mention the "BS" about autosave, just because I want to and I'll do it in a manner that looks like written English. You can say a thing and it doesn't make it so. Autosave has saved my *ss a few times already.
Why anybody would hate on it I'm not sure? You can set it up to save every 5 minutes if you want, I prefer the 'when the sequence is stopped' method.

I have never upgraded to a new OS before it was on .3 or .4 (or a major app upgrade before it was .01 or .02...) A policy that has served me very, very well.

Bleeding edge is for computer geeks and suckers. I'm merely a musician. :D

Also just a musician here as well, but I love to go to Vegas... :) This Lion thing is a little scary as was Leopard. In my case, I'm still on a PPC so I have no choice but to remain merely a musician. What happens in my PPC stays in my PPC - to some extent.

Radiogal wrote:Even if DP might run on Lion, what about all the other apps and plugins that took me 4 days to install on my new Mac Pro last week?

Jumping to Lion would force me to do this all over again and for sure put me into severe compatibility issues and also force me to abandon several plugins not suported anymore..

I use to be a late adopter of a new OSX (read: VERY late) just for the safe ride. Can´t afford an unstable system in the studio bizz.
The Lions will have to wait for me.

Better safe than sorry.
True but how many PPC only plugins are you using? If you don't know, do a Get Info on them. If it says nothing or PPC, nothing to worry about - those won't work in Lion. If it says Universal, it should work but that is no guarantee.

I have been preparing my system. I have a few old AppleWorks files that I need to save in .pdf. Otherwise, everything is in Universal or PPC.

I will be an early adopter but only because I am now handicapped. I expect Lion to speed my normal work flow.

None! As a fact I downloaded new updated (Snow Leopard compatible) files for all of the plugins I´m using. Except for two that are OSX UB anyway.
