Re: MIDI recording late

So, I just tried this on my Intel iMac. I found the MIDI timing was good until I actually assigned the MIDI track to the VI. Having the VI present didn't affect the timing of a track that was assigned to my S90-ES. I wonder if the previous result (indicating it just needed to be present) was from ha...

Re: Tracks, Track Selection......aargh!

My memory is foggy on this, but it seems this was the original way to limit the visible tracks in the mixer before the Track Selector was introduced. Or maybe I’m hallucinating.

Many times SMPTE start time is set to one hour in case time needs to be added to the front end of a cue. SMPTE can’t do negative numbers.

You can also change the SMPTE start time of your sequence to 1:00:00:00 and the files will appear at the same time locations as they were recorded.

Re: DP for Broadway Scores

Yes, Quickscribe is a display of the data in the track. When you make a change in Quickscribe you are directly changing the data in the track.

Re: MIDI recording late

So you’re recording these MIDI notes in real time to a click? Any chance the click is late and you’re playing to that? Try recording the click back into a track and see where it lines up. Just a thought.

Re: MIDI recording late

I know you said there are no plugins on the Master Fader. Just to make sure… bypassing plugins on the Master Fader is not enough to eliminate the issue. They must be removed or set up a second Master Fader with no plugins and disable the one with plugins (by temporarily changing the output bundle).

Re: Microbook II not appearing on M1 iMac after update to 11.5.2

Glad it worked. I got that from MOTU tech support after the steps for installing the latest driver didn’t solve the problem. Good news… it works, although you might need to replug the unit more than once. Bad news… you’ll probably have to do this after every MacOS update. I hope to get back to the p...

Re: Microbook II not appearing on M1 iMac after update to 11.5.2

I have a MicroBook IIc and have to go through this every time there's an update to MacOS. Follow the instructions given earlier in this thread to install the most current driver. If CueMix FX doesn't see your interface do the following: Quit CueMix FX Open Terminal and run this: sudo kextutil -v /Li...

Re: DP 11 needs Rosetta?

Yes, everything you’ve said is spot on. My only additional point was that MainStage has the option of running under Rosetta and does use Rosetta (even when MainStage itself is running natively) for Kontakt. So, the thought that MainStage is written to not use Rosetta doesn’t actually hold up. SWAM p...

Re: DP 11 needs Rosetta?

Mainstage does have the “get info” check box to run in Rosetta. I think the reason it didn’t help me with my SWAM plugins is that Mainstage doesn’t use VST plugins. Mainstage does run Kontakt which is currently not AS native.

Re: DP 11 needs Rosetta?

I’m going through all this because I’ve finally replaced my 2010 MacBook Pro with a 16” 2021 MacBook Pro M1-Max. Got a lot of use from the old one and still works for hosting MainStage for much of what I do. It’s stuck at it’s current state though. No more OS updates and so no more VI updates eventu...

Re: DP 11 needs Rosetta?

Audio Units are the only Intel (not ready for M1) plug ins that can run in DP when DP itself is running as a native application on M1 Macs. You can run DP entirely in Rosetta, in that case Intel VSTs will run in DP. You must not own any native VSTs because personally I have dozens of native VSTs he...
