DP11 backwards version compatibility?
I am going to be exchanging DP projects with someone running DP8; I use DP11. Are the files compatible? If so, what should I watch out for to STAY compatible?

Re: MIDI recording late
Has anybody tried today's update (11.2) to see if the MIDI timing bug is fixed? I don't see anything in the change notes. I'm finishing up a TV score totally in Pro Tools (thankfully very little MIDI recording/editing), and am avoiding DP for serious scoring work until I can switch to M1 Silicon aft...

Re: tap tempo and the conductor track
That's what I tried to do. I assigned option-t to the tap tempo command, but when I double-click on a tempo in the conductor track, I just get a series of crosses (the symbol you get with option-t). It should work but doesn't. I also tried assigning a MIDI note (C3). That doesn't work either. Does t...

Re: tap tempo and the conductor track
Hmm, this is what I read in the manual, maybe I'm misreading it?? If I am, yes, it would be a good feature to add. Tapping to enter a tempo in a text box The Tap to Enter Tempo command also allows you to tap a tempo setting into any text box where you can also type a tempo number (in beats per minut...

tap tempo and the conductor track
I am trying to use Tap Tempo to enter BPM in a conductor track tempo event, but it doesn't seem to work. The manual says the command "Tap To Enter Tempo" should do this, but it doesn't. In fact, when I'm in Conductor mode, it doesn't seem to do anything. Is this broken?

Re: MIDI recording late
I've been through that with MoTU tech support. The "sample accurate" claims of MoTU MIDI interfaces don't come into play with this problem unfortunately. It's not dependent on the interface.

Re: MIDI recording late
Yes, that's what stinks-- if I work at 128, or even 256, my sequences choke. Right now, every time I record I've got to move the MIDI back-- by hand, because the time delay is inconsistent. I don't think MoTU is interested in fixing this.

Re: MIDI recording late
I've discovered that this timing bug is not consistent; in other words, the lateness varies. One average I was seeing about 40ms delay, but it's not an exact figure, and sometimes, for no reason, the lateness is much less. There are way too many variables for me to test for. I am counting the days t...

iLok Cloud and DP11
Does DP11 work with iLok Cloud sessions, the way Pro Tools and Vienna Ensemble Pro do? If so, how is it working for you?

Re: New Mac Studio with M1 Max or Ultra
That’s a drag to hear DP doesn’t do well under Rosetta 2. MoTU (and others) give the impression that it’s not much of a hit with the firepower of the Silicon M1. The timing bug is discussed in my thread “MIDI recording late”. On a number of Intel machines MIDI records late (against click) at high bu...

Re: New Mac Studio with M1 Max or Ultra
How well do PT and DP do under Rosetta 2? BTW, I’m keeping my Intel Mac to run PT until this is resolved. Just want an M1 for DP due to the timing bug.
