Re: OSX 10.3.9.. Errors Reported - Fixes
Java works for me again with this work around. 1) Boot from Panther 1:st CD to do a new install. Choose to archive and preserve old settings . After installation is complete (cd:s 1 & 2 usually) 2) Install Combo updater 10.3.8. 3) Reboot and apply Java 1.4.2v2 updater 4) Reboot update from the s...

I think Gibble is right ( or his Unix-guru ).
Limewire 4.8.1 doesnt work on my iMac after updating to 10.3.9.
Limewire is dependent upon the javalibs.

Re: OSX 10.3.9.. Errors Reported - Fixes
Glmusic: Maybe you should turn the question around - how come they release Tiger so soon - close to the 10.3.9 release. Mac OS-X have seen some 1400 patches and updates since it's first release. Wich clearly indicates an unfinished product. The main reason I suspect for Apple's release of 10.4 Tiger...

Re: Why won't MOTU do THIS??
Thats a very good idea indeed and the decent thing to do. As Aaron Lyon pointed out most "open source" projects do. (like mozilla.org as one example) There's no guarantee of course that such a list can completely accurate and up to date. However listing the bugs you actually know about, wo...

Re: Why Digital Performer?
Coming as I do from years of use with Opcode:s Vision sequencer, there's one thing for me that makes DP stand out from rest of the pack. I find the interface and workflow in DP to be the most logical and easy to master - compared to the others - like Cubase, Ableton & Logic. All Daws in this cla...

Re: Disk Warrior/Tech Tool Pro and the best ways to use them
Techtool should be able to repair & optimize any drive you can see in your system/desktop et all. I would reccomend all users of Techtool to install the ePartition on the system bootdrive. Techtool does this dynamically on the fly - no need to reformat/resize partitions beforehand. Thus you can ...

Re: Not Sure
If you like DP and it's working OK for you - there's no great reason to switch - is it? By all means listen knowlegeable people on this list ( wich I'm not ;) but make your own decision which tool suit's you best. About the plugs I'm not sure - my guess is: 1) Logic plugs dont work in DP and vice ve...

Re: CPU power lost in the transition from DP3 -> DP4.5
The size of OS-X may be 5-6 times that of OS-9.
The number of actual files installed i OS-X is more like 10-12 times that of OS-9.
Your cpu power remains the same, however OS-X puts considerably more strain on your computer than OS-9
does.

Re: DP - end of the line?
DP "may?" have a language bug  that that doesnt allow it to play nice with scandinavian languages. But my native tounge (swedish) belongs to this category (last time I checked) and I DONT have this problem. In fact I removed very other tounge from my OS-X install - except swedish...

Re: dp 4.51 won't start/quits/takes forever to save
First repair permissions on your boot-volume. Then trash your DP-prefs. Remove the iSight plug-in if you got it. Install the lame frame-work. (for exporting mp3-files from within DP) Uninstall everything thats connected with DP Repair permissions. Install DP all over again Repair permissions. Cheers...

Re: Help Getting Started
Unisyn profiles are documents written in xml-syntax. They are plain ASCI-files editable in any text-editor. You can even edit write/compose them in Word provided you save them as ASCI-files. They must have the - *.midnam - suffix attched to the filename -- i.e. Kurzweil-26000.midnam. Cheers: Dixiech...
