thanks, emulatorloo, for your response and the link. some good info there. that article would lead me to believe it is a processor spike of some kind. it's only started happening since moving to DP 5 of course and no other applications do this so i do believe it's DP related. if anyone else has a su...

How does a processor spike manifest itself?
i am relatively new to DP5 and i'm getting a new problem compared to my experiences with DP4 and DP3. every now and again the computer stops and i get the spinning coloured cursor ball (there's probably a more technical term for this!). it lasts from about 5 to 15 seconds and then after it recovers ...

i'm using an imac 1.9ghz g5 and 4.6 is working like a dream so far. being fairly new it hasn't had a major test yet but it's looking really good at this point. anyway, i just wanted to ask a_real_mf if he wouldn't mind posting a solution to this monitoring problem here if the MOTU guys ever respond....

monitor input on 828 combined with DP
anyone have an idea why the "monitor input" setting on the "audio set up" of my MOTU 828 interface is defaulting to "none" any time i open up digital performer? i usually keep it at analog 1-2 or 3-4 so i can monitor audio as soon as i open up a DP file. this happens wi...
