Re: DP 10.1 out

I can't open the install pkg on my iMac (Catalina). I get this message: DP101(83521).pkg can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information. I've emailed MOTU tech support, but may not hear back for seve...

Re: Exploding MIDI drums

Ah ... thank you Bayswater!

I've used Split Notes before to select individual notes in a track, but had forgotten that I could select 'all notes' and paste into separate tracks.

Cheers,

Exploding MIDI drums

I have a lot of old files that used MIDI drums, with all instruments in a single track (kick, snare, symbols, toms, etc). To have a better control of the mix, I'd like to 'explode' these so that each instrument has its own mono track. Is there a quick way of doing this, or do I have to create indivi...

Re: Mountain Lion.. NOT compatible with DP 6!!

I've just been playing around with my DP6.02 – and it seems to be running just fine on Mountain Lion!

In fact, it couldn't be smoother.

I'm waiting for DP8 before I upgrade.

Re: New iMacs!

Does the "etc." include a 424 card connected to an HD192 and 24 I/O all wired into my studio? Because really with my investment in PCI audio interfaces, I think I'm better off with a Mac Pro and upgrading to a PCIe-424 card. My guess is that "big rigs" will always need card slot...

Oooooo ... that's a good thought Rockitcity!

I haven't even thought about the SD card and it's capabilities.

Is this a new dimension to storage? If so, this could be revolutionary.

Time for some research.

Re: New iMacs!

… I don't know how someone could have a working system using VI's with just the internal drive. Does it allow more than one internal drive? I've been recording with just my single internal drive since I bought this iMac (24" Intel) without the slightest drama of any kind. BUT: my needs are rel...

New iMacs!

Well … just as I was about to send my order for DP7, Apple drop the new iMacs on us! The choice is a 27" 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 … or … DP7 (I don't think the piggybank will stretch to both). What's it to be? :? My wife just said I can have the new iMac if she gets my 24" one. :D :D...

Re: DP7 first impressions

Just been sent an invoice for DP 7 from the banana boat import company.

They want $A315.50. That's $US279.80 compared to $US195 for Statesiders.

I guess we have to pay the extra $A60 ($53 Uncle Sams) for the high-speed delivery.

Ned Kelly is alive and well.

Re: DP7 first impressions

+1 BTW Damn banana boat, lost at sea again  I've come to the conclusion that we've done banana boats a great disservice. There's no question that if a banana boat had picked up a few copies of DP from LA the day after it was released in the US, those intrepid seamen would have been able to ma...

Re: DP7 first impressions

Yeah, well I guess it's okay for you guys to rave on about DP7 good or bad ... but in Australia, we're still stuck with DP6.0.2! :? I've heard nothing from Major Music (our official importers), tho' they indicated it would be here this week past! :( James, how will I ever get to moan and whinge abou...

Re: DP7 first impressions

Any Australians received a DP7 upgrade yet?

We're just poor cousins, I guess.

And Major Music (local distributors) still don't have any copies and want to charge $AUS299 for an upgrade (that's $US261 compared to the US price of $195).

Bit rich, hey?

Re: Note to old Sibelius users...

It displayed the mixer, no crashes. I haven't got time to really experiment with it though, but so far so good. That's good to hear. Sibelius is looking after older versions, which is more than many companies will do. I hear you about the cost, Larry. Given that it wasn't that long ago I did the up...
