Re: BCF-2000 ?
Well, motorized faders are extremly usefull not to say almost necessary if you want to make adjustments to an existing mix or mixing pass. The faders will follow any previous made automation in DP. So as soon as you want to jump in and make an adjustment to a volume setting, the fader is already at ...

Re: BCF-2000 ?
The BCF is definitely not touch sensitive. But you can sort of get a little in that direction by using latch mode. So for example if you want to make corrections or changes to your first (or what ever) mixing pass - as soon as you move one fader it gets into automation write mode, but it won't drop ...

Re: DP7 + Audio Track Sync
Hi, I found that on the WEB. Maybe it is helpful. SMPTE (Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers) is still in use in Film and Video today and is embedded right into digital video so no tape tracks are required. In the days of tape recorders, we used SMPTE and striped it on the last track...

Re: DP7 + Audio Track Sync
Hi Steve, let's see if I can be of some assistance. Having MIDI Timecode recorded on Tape sounds a bit unlikely to me. I think it probably is SMPTE Timecode which must be converted to MIDI Timecode. It's been quite some some time since I had to work with such a setup. Everything had to be outboard c...

Re: Stupid Question - Automation Follows Soundbite?
Ok. I just did a quick check and as far as I can tell it works. All automation data is selected and therefore also moved with the soundbite to its new location. If you experience a different behaviour let me know.

Re: Stupid Question - Automation Follows Soundbite?
It all depends on how you select things. If you use the Pointer Tool to select a soundbite (an event) with a single click, you need to then choose "Set To Selection Bounds" from the Selection Tab drop-down menu to make that selection time-based (a region). I use that constantly and wish t...

Re: Turning a Room into a Hall (reverb)
Hi, +1 what Phil said. And without wanting to sound harsh, but I think the drum part has to be replayed. I don't know if you recorded all instruments at once or if you did overdubs but the drums and the piano just don't interlock. You said the drummer is a nice guy so he probably won't mind redoing ...

Re: Turning a Room into a Hall (reverb)
Hi, yes it's really a nice song. Very authentic sounding. But concerning the reverb, it is more the drums that stick out than the violins. Maybe it is just me but they sound overly processed compared to everything else which sounds open and airy. And one other thing, maybe it's again just me, but th...

Re: ADR Tips?
Hi Phil, one more thing, or maybe two. If you get your video via DVD. Convert it using mpeg streamclip and make sure to repair all timecode errors without dropping any frames. If there is no timecode burned into the picture use a little free tool called "QT sync" to creat one. Save it as a...

Re: ADR Tips?
Hi Phil,
It's best to use motionjpeg or fotojpeg including the audio. They are easy on the cpu and definitly always frame accurate. 90 min video should be around 6 to 7 GB.
Greats

Re: ADR Tips?
Hi Phil, that is a tough one I think. I am not a DP guy although I might become one, but that's a different story. I know that you have the ability to create streamers and punches in DP but probably not a masked count off. So I suggest a different approach that a lot of times works quite well. At le...

Hi Monkeyman, concerning the Crystal update. The 2 Folders CrystalPatchBanks and CrystalSoundFonts have found a new home. They are now or rather should be residing in a folder called Crystal located inside your local Application Support folder. Just move them there and everything will be back to nor...

Re: Burn to a .iso image?
Hi, there are 2 free CD/DVD burning apps that also can creat iso disk images from whatever you would like to burn to media. One is called "burn" http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the other one is called "LiquidCD" http://...
