Re: Trying to hook up 3 Motu 8pre's

I've been doing this for several years. Daisy chain all three 8 pre's computer to firewire in of #1 and then #1 to #2 and #3 to #3.

In digital performer under audio interface you will need to make sure you have all three selected.

Re: Plug-In High Pitch Screaming Noise???

For the life of me I can't figure it out and I agree something with the AU deep inside DP has an issue. The new cabinet simulator and guitar plugins in DP7 crash when launched too.

Plug-In High Pitch Screaming Noise???

I have had this problem with some projects I've been working on lately and I can't quite figure out which plug-in is causing this, or maybe someone out there has had a similiar problem. I open a project and it loads fine. When I press play I get a loud high pitch squeel from my main outs and I have ...

Re: 2 B3 or Not 2 B3? That is the Question.

I have a Hammond C3 & 122 Leslie setup here in my studio and I can say it's hard to weigh in when you've played the real beast, but I would have to say that if you are going to be using B3 sounds as filler in a track the Virtual Instrument may be the easiet option, but for a real player physical...

Slow DP Startup anyone?

My DP 6.01 has been starting up pretty slow...As soon as the project opens and all windows pop up, all the faders go to maximum height and hang there for about a minute with the mac "spinning ball of death" and then I am able to playback the project. Is this normal or should the project op...

Re: DP 6.01 Strange Behavior

I had the same thing happen when I was tracking some live gigs and I fixed it by having the host buffer multiplier set to "3" since I was using 3 MOTU 8pres. Seems wen this got switched somehow back to 1 it was creating the same thing you've got going on. The waveforms were drawn correctly...

Thanks

Yes I dove into the manual for DP 6.0 and realized that I had changed the host buffer multiplier from 3-1 don't know why I did that, but works like a charm...only thing is now I need my band to have some better live performances so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time recording them.

3x8pre not working...

I'm currently trying to run 3 8pres with my macbook pro dual 2.0 ghz 2 gig ram to record some live gigs. I keep getting processor overload which puts digital noise (kind of pink noise sounding) on all the tracks after a couple of songs. The waveforms look fine on screen. I'm only using this setup to...

Processor Overload Error While Recording (Help Please)

I've been having some issues with DP lately and am in need of some help. I've got 3x8pre's hooked up to my macbook pro and am trying to record some live shows. I have only Mac OSX leapord installed and DP no other software is loaded, this is a remote recording only laptop. No plugins besides the sto...

Not sure if this helps, but in DP I've got to shift-click to select multiple MOTU interfaces in the audio setup menu. It sees all of them but I've got to highlight all of them by shift-clicking.

That may or may not help.

Get as many as you can...

I've got three 8 pre's hooked up to my MacBook pro for live recording. I've recorded sucesfully all 24 inputs live @ 24bit 48khz with no problems to the internal drive. I have been doing some location recording for live bands here in town and have not had a hiccup at all. The sound of the pres are p...

Congrats...

I spent about a month trying to get my 424e card to work in my new macpro and wound up sending it back and buying 3 896's. I just couldn't have my studio not working any longer. I'm glad you got yours to work...I would have rather had the 24 i/o instead.
