I tried plugging into my second FW port instead of behind the HD, and got this message (in a loop) after trying to start Logic. Had to force quit to get out. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/tencentcat/MOTUDeviceConflict.jpg This is with the latest drivers from MOTU, BTW. Did a bit more testin...

New MOTU 8pre with intense digital screetching
Just got a MOTU 8pre in the mail today. After installing, setting up, etc. I opened up Logic to record a test track, only to get a sudden ear-popping death ray of what sounds like synthesized digital feedback. Before I went to record, the sound coming through the Mic sounded nice and clear - levels ...

Re: DP 3.1 Question from the past.
Thanks for the clarification. For some reason though, I still can't get FM7 (or any other third party plugs) to show up. FM7 was in the extensions folder, but anything I put in the Apps/DP3/Plugin folder doesn't show up. Is there just something simple I'm forgetting, like a preference or something l...

Re: DP 3.1 Question from the past.
I know this is an old topic, but I'm in the same boat as the original poster.
Where do I put MAS plugins to use them in DP 3.11? I tried the plugin folder within the DP3 folder, but it doesn't see them. It doesn't even see FM7 which installed MAS support.

Re: Defragmenting hard drive failed, norton issues, DP error
If you suceesfully repair your original drive and get the files working, you might want to reformat the Lacie drive and re-copy the files back over.
If you're still having problems after that, you might need to backup your main system and do a fresh install.

Re: DP CPU Usage
Thanks for the input. That's encouraging that it's not wasting power. I'm just a bit shocked at how much it seems to use for tasks that don't even register in Logic (not to make an uneducated comparision). I've heard the CPU meter in DP is not exactly accurate - any truth to this? Should I just igno...

Re: DP CPU Usage
I tried changing the buffer setting. It makes a noticeable difference on the meter, but I need lower settings for live tracking. I'm on version 4.52 by the way.

Re: DP CPU Usage
16 mono and 16 stereo voices, which is the default setting. I haven't really changed anything but the clock speed and bit rate.

DP CPU Usage
I'm new to DP, and I can't seem to find an answer to this searching the forums. Does Digital Performer take advantage of dual processors? I have a dual 1.25ghz G4 with 1.25 gb of ram, and it just seems that DP is extremely power hungry according to the CPU meter. I've tried different buffer and cloc...

Re: Defragmenting hard drive failed, norton issues, DP error
I hate to tell you this, but Norton is definitely bad news for Mac. Delete it imediately, burn the install disk and bury the ashes. ;) Luckily you made a backup, so you should be safe. Your problem probably began when you filled up your audio drive to basically the max. From now on, try and leave at...
