In your MIDI Patch thru preferences use CoreMIDI patch thru. This may improve your performance, but IMHO MIDI latency will always be there to some extent. This is one reason why I don't ever think I will give up playing real hardware instruments. The responsiveness of a VI will never match a real ke...

Have you read your synth profile notes? If not, read them, and then read them again. Unisyn can be a difficult beast, and sometimes the MOTU profiles are not correct.

Apple just snuck in Quicktime 7.1.2 in the shuffle. They have been updating QT like there is no tomorrow. May wait these updates out a few days.

Well, if I was "MacGyver", I would attach a VERY small amount of superglue (with a toothpick) either to the end of the broken plug, or to a very narrow piece of wire. Pull gently, as superglue is very brittle.* *WARNING! Do not try this at home! The management will not accept responsibilit...

I love this question! You are not going to like my answers, though, and I think that this topic will move OT real fast. Cinematic music is the perfect wedding of music and film, and if you want to see an absolute master at work look no farther than the works of Stanley Kubrick. His choice of music f...

Anyone who lives in the southeast during the summertime knows of a very good reason to shut down (and disconnect, and maybe pack everything up)...Godawful, vivid, synapse shorting thunderstorms that make brave people tremble in fear. Anyone who trusts their equipment to a surge protector or lighteni...

I would like to know the answer, too! Apple says my Powerbook is hot-swappable, MOTU says don't do it! Judging from the number of people I know who have had their firewire busses fried for no reason in particular, I would say that powering down before unplugging is a small price to pay for the peace...

I posted a thread a while back about DP MIDI plug ins. The Manual clearly states that MIDI plug-ins are being developed by third parties and MOTU, but in this lifetime I have yet to find one that doesn't ship with the installation disk. BTW, MOTU says new Unisyn profiles are also being developed. I ...

How did you do this- I didn't think that the universal binary version of DP 5 was out yet. Did you run it under Rosetta?

You know, I re-read the docs on the MOTU site and it looks like the 1.07 firmware update may be Intel only. I'm not sure about this, and the description (which I read many times) is simply not clear about this. Anyone, is the Traveler firewire 1.07 update Intel only?
