Re: New Macs Are Out
So, am I mistaken (please make it so) or, if I want to run my two 23" Apple Cinema Displays, I'm going to have to pony up for another video card and, in doing so, use up another PCIe slot? Lame! :? EDIT : I guess, after a little more research, turns out all I really need is a $25 adapter. I hat...

Re: New MacBook does not have a firewire port
Umm, what about the disaster that is Vista? Yup. Apple and microsoft both in my opinion. And, while OSX is and always will be leaps and bounds over anything microsoft can come up with, I've been running XP on my Compaq Presario notebook and it is by far the most stable operating system/computer I o...

Re: New MacBook does not have a firewire port
Not to be alarmist, but frankly, it's making me take a look at PC laptops for the first time in a decade. This thing can have up to 3 firewire ports w/ an Express-card: http://www.rainrecording.com/products/livebook/ Clearly, no DP, but I could run all my NI stuff, Pro Tools, Live, etc on Windows a...

Re: New MacBook does not have a firewire port
Ah, okay.
Reassuring, if not a little cheesey:

Re: New MacBook does not have a firewire port
Well they want you to buy the more expensive MacBook PRO if you need firewire.... Would you really want to run your studio from a MacBook? The MacBook Pro will almost certainly have a Firewire port. And a graphics card with its own memory. There are many reasons not to use a MacBook, though many pe...

44.1/16, eh?
That's ridiculous :? Oh well. Good to know it WAS something I over looked. I always work at 48k. The thought of having to convert before I burned to CD never once crossed my mind. Like I said in an earlier post, the regular bounce to disk feature works just fine and, at 48k. Shame MOTU didn't have t...

Re: burn cd
I dont have dp6 but i see that you did apple-a to select audio. I would think you would still have to bounce it down to a 2-track before being able to burn to cd. try selecting only one stereo audio file and see if your burn options appear. Just a guess, like i said, i dont have dp6 yet.. Didn't ha...

Burn Audio CD?
So, one of the new features I was looking forward to in DP6 was the new "Burn Audio CD" feature. However, when I try to select "Burn Audio CD" from the Audio menu, it is grayed out as is "Burn CD Disk Image." I read page 947 in the manual and followed it to the letter, ...

Sorry, just an illusion. It is the same price. I know because I paid the upgrade from 4.12 to 4.5 then to 5.x. I actually thought my upgrade to 4.5 was $149 but when I suggested that a couple of years ago most people have said that the upgrade was always $195.CC Yeah, come to think of it, I think I...

Um, yeah...
The only thing I don't like about my Mac keyboard (I got the wired one) is it's not back-lit. I spend a lot of my time in front of my monitor with the lights off...doin', um, stuff. So, I think this will be my next keyboard: http://techgroup.groups.vox.com/library/post/6a00e398c338bf000400e39...
