Re: Screencast of Composing with DP and Bidule
Can you please tell me what library is used for "BIG MUTED STRINGS" in this template ? Thanks for your time Respect J. R. Haim Mike, J.R. asked the question about which library you use for the BIG MUTED STRINGS. Not sure if I saw you answer it. I would also be interested to hear what you ...

Re: Screencast of Composing with DP and Bidule
I'm interested in people's views whether the orchestral stuff should be separated into long and short, as Mike has done, or as I have often been recommended to do, high and low stems. When I've had a real (!) mixing engineer mix my stuff he generally separates his buses into high and low orchestral...

Export DP Project for use in Logic
I need to export a Digital Performer project for continuing work in Logic (don't ask...) and I am running into some problems. When exporting a fairly large MIDI project from DP with MIDI format 1 and opening that MIDI file in Logic 8 a bunch of tracks have dropped the MIDI content. Anyone run into t...

However, I need to basically just adjust the numeral value of the tempo without affecting the placement of the MIDI notes along the time line. Hey, JB. If you do that, then I suppose your MIDI notes would no longer be aligned to your measures. Just out of plain, old-fashioned curiosity, why would y...

Change MIDI Tempo Without Changing MIDI Notes
I am trying to figure out how to change the tempo without changing the tempo of the MIDI notes. Changing the tempo in the conductor track will speed up or slow down how the MIDI notes are played. That's the desired functionality most of the time and is fine. However, I need to basically just adjust ...

Well in my case, it is definitely a lousy USB Hub. Eliminating the Hub solved my problem. New hubs on order. I was actually talking about the MIDI-based MCU, not the USB MCU Pro. Me too. I got it. :) Using a USB MIDI interface running through a USB hub with the MCU... Well, the MCU we have here is ...

I wonder if this is just something with DP, rather than the MCU. Well in my case, it is definitely a lousy USB Hub. Eliminating the Hub solved my problem. New hubs on order. I was actually talking about the MIDI-based MCU, not the USB MCU Pro. I can see how a USB hub can create issues too. Seems to...

I wonder if this is just something with DP, rather than the MCU. I've had issues with DP and a HUI I owned for a number of years, running a Mackie d8b in HUI mode, and now the MCU. Never had any issues with Cubase at all. It's annoying at the least. I never got a good response from MOTU on the issue...

Re: Mackie refresh
I finally discovered that if you go into the preferences of the mackie (Assignment, I/O, Prefs,) SrlTks=No You can set the preference to off and it won't refresh anymore every time you change banks. DP 4.5 Manual page 918 Well, wouldn't you know. For some reason I could never really find any inform...

Sorry for not replying earlier. I've been away from the studio for a few days. Sounds like a call to MOTU is in order. I've had those mysterious crashes too, but they are so infrequent that it would be almost impossible to track down the source. Until they become more frequent and can be repeated, I...

Alright, I figured it out. The key to doing what I needed to do is changing the time with Region->Scale Time and entering a value of 50%. After that adjusting the tempo from 150 to 75 bpm would bring everything back into timed alignment. Thanks for helping out. I guess I was asking the wrong questio...

That's what I thought at first would work, but it doesn't. Here is why: The MIDI tracks were recorded at 150 bpm. However, they should have beeen recorded at 75 bpm, half the specified beats per minute. When the sequence is played back at 150 bpm, everything sounds as it should. However, the counter...
