Re: Repairing ADAT connectors on a MOTU 2408 MKII
Fantastic. Just ordered the connectors from Farnell (I live in Norway). Should I get a professional to solder, or will I manage myself? (I am practical, but not very experienced) Here are pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/asbjornsundal/MOTU2408OpticalConnections#" onclick="window.open(...

2408 voltage
Hello all. The optical connectors on my 2408 has been ripped off by the "friendly" postal service. Since the card is old (2000) and I live in Norway, I have decided to have it fixed here instead of sending it to MOTU (sending it will cost me around USD 300). To the question: I have found t...

Re: Repairing ADAT connectors on a MOTU 2408 MKII
Found some here: http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/EU091/P0300.pdf
It is in Fig.2
Think it is the 147. The question is if the voltage is right.

Repairing ADAT connectors on a MOTU 2408 MKII
Hello all. I am selling my 2408 MKII and sent it off to the buyer here in Norway. The post office decided to be careless and when the unit arrived, three of the ADAT connectors (the inputs and outputs, black "sugarcubes") had been pushed in and had fallen off. The buyer returned it, and no...

Re: Digital Performer/OSX on a PC?
Thanks for all the input on this theme. It was triggered by a friend that says he has used OSX on a PC for a year now with no problems. So now I will shop around for a new Mac. Think I´ll go for a used MacPro. I have decided to start using Bidule as my VI-rack. tried it yesterday and it was great. I...

Re: Digital Performer/OSX on a PC?
This allows Apple to sell systems that are well tested and everything on them just works...as opposed to the PC world where one could not possibly beta test every hardware configuration from every third party OEM company out there producing "PC" compatible hardware. Solid hardware drivers...

Re: Digital Performer/OSX on a PC?
OK. I might considering selling my super rare Korg Wavedrum to afford this, but once that one is gone, there is no going back.
Know anyone who is looking for one? (Wavedrum)

Re: Digital Performer/OSX on a PC?
It might be that my studio mac is on its way to the grave. It is a dual 1 gig G4with 1 gig RAM. For an upgrade, used is the only way to go (economics) Not sure if it is wise to upgrade to a used G5, or if I should go for an Intel Mac. The point is that if OSX runs fine on a PC (and I have heard it d...

Digital Performer/OSX on a PC?
Just wondering. Since Macs now are all Intel based, I have heard that many run OSX without problems on a PC http://www.osx86project.org/ (it is mostly a matter of opening up the limitations to use only certain serial numbers on such things as video cards etc.) If this is the case, maybe I could buil...

MotorMix
I just bought the MotorMix. I am new to the whole control surface thing and thought this would be the end of mousing around. So far not impressed. Does anyone use this unit with DP4.12? What is your experience. Are other control surfaces better to work with (Mackie Control, SAC 2.2)? I e-mailed CM L...
