yes - I second that. Cubase does this already.Noizemaker wrote:Automatically export the patch changes when exporting a MIDI File. Right now you have to insert the patches, I••™ve chosen in the Track list, manually in the event list of every single track.

better support for virtual instruments
For those of us ( most i suspect ) that mostly use AU/MAS instrument plugins we really need DP to be more friendly and intuitive, Here are some suggestions: 1) The current V-Rack scheme is a start, but better still would be support for a "permanent" or persistent rack ("P-Rack" m...

feature request: AU instrument patch names in tracks view
currently DP shows the patch list for only the built in GM Apple Software Synth. Others AudioUnit instruments are merely shown with patch numbers - not the names. We need to be able to select AudioUnit and MAS instrument plugin patches in the same manner for convenience, without having to open up th...

Re: Just Got My Dual 2.3 Ghz
hey guys - dont worry so much about the liquid cooling, if the cooling mechanism breaks down, temperature sensors will kick in as normal and stop the cpu running if the temperature gets too hot. theres no danger of your CPU getting "fried", UNLESS both the cooling system AND the sensor die...

Re: Any former Logic Pro Users Here?
re< I hope that Apple gives Logic their full attention and does not turn it into Garage Band! > I heartly disagree. There are some features in GB that really help the composing workflow and should be in Logic. Im thinking particularly about the way one selects virtual intruments or complete Channel ...

Re: Cubase SX3 vs DP 4.52
I own the latest versions of SX3, DP and Logic7.1 i am still not decided on which to "settle on". SX3 demands a lot of CPU at the mo, Logic has loads of instruments built in and seems cpu efficient compared to SX. The one feature that really distinguishes Cubase from DP and Logic for me - ...

Re: wishlist:making DP more Virtual Instrument Friendly
fair enough, but bearing in mind a huge nr of people use NI products, it would be a boon in itself if DP managed at least to display patch lists for NI and Steinberg stuff, as well as of course their own VIs. Then hopefully the other VI vendors would fall into line once it became clear that other ve...

Re: wishlist:making DP more Virtual Instrument Friendly
disagree. If GarageBand manages to read and display AU patchlists perfectly well , as well as Logic style plugins, there should be no reason why other AU compatiible apps cant do the same. I have nearly ALL of the Native Instruments AUs and GB manages to retrieve the patches with no problems.

wishlist:making DP more Virtual Instrument Friendly
Bearing in mind that many (most??) users are gradually moving towards total Virtual Instrument based setups - with maybe just one keyboard as a controller, It would be sensiblle to at least allow a mode option where irrelevant MIDI options can be hidden. Things like hidin channel and port info where...

Re: DP6.0 (A view of the future)? Just for fun...
1) My biggest wish is that they finally catch up with Cubase, by allowing instrument plugin patch names to be displayed and chosen WITHOUT opening the plugin itself in the track list etc. In so many cases the combination of virtual instrument name + patch name would be enough to distinguish a track ...

Re: why cant DP automatically display the Patchlists from my
( BUMP ) im going over to logic for the time being - not so much due to the lack of patch display features but due to the way Logic is gradually absorbing AppleLoops and GarageBand instruments. I am finding it a joy to begin by working with ideas in GB and then importing into Logic7 for final work. ...

Re: why cant DP automatically display the Patchlists from my
yes - just to clarify- most Vis list the patchlist somehow IF you open up the VI window- but what im looking for is for the current selected patch and patchlist selection to be displayed in the main sequencer windows - ie the track list etc. Cubase SX seems to be the only major sequencer that does t...
