Crashes when i turn my 828 on.
My computer crashes when i turn my 828 on. I do not understand what is going on. It happens after I installed the new Firewire and Fastlane updates. The 828 was working fine before those updates and before the 10.5.1 update.
Any ideas please?

I can barely stand either but ... I love coffee breaks!
newrigel, I didn't say my QuickSilver G4 is fast, but it makes its work. Yes, sometimes I have to wait a lot for renders, however always you can do the render after you finish a section of the sequence or even the entire sequence and go to have a cup of coffee. Another thing is that my 1GHz processo...

in fact
thanks for your answer. In fact, my QuickSilver Dual 1 GHz has the most of RAM it was possible at that time for that model (1.5 GB SDRAM), so the only thing and need to upgrade is the processor. But I do not understand why it would be necessary to insert a PCI card, I work basically with audio and v...

try and experiment with Toast 7
Toast 7 has a new feature called Music DVD, you drag audio files there and the software compress the audio to dolby or PCM as well. I do not know if this approach is the right thing to do, since makes more sense first to mix and prepare the audio in DP with the bit and frame rates that DVD requires....

Re: QT Movie Export…Working?
I had the same problem when I selected part of the project, I mean a section of the music in the track windows, however when I selected the full long of the track (tracks) which implies the full movie everything works just fine. It seems to me that for any reason if you want to export only a section...

Re: Can GarageBand be Rewired to DP?
yes, I was able to record in DP the real audio coming form GB instruments, track by track of course using Soundflower, in fact got the impression that at least the piano sound from GB is a lot better than the Apple Soft Synth.
Thanks for the tip.

Re: 4.6 and Lame
yes, I have the impression the lame encode from DP works better than in iTunes, you get smaller files and good quality sound. I think is better to use the lame encode in DP than iTunes, at least for DP projects.
