24i - even and odd channel displays swapped

I'm getting ready to sell my 24i. This is a replacement unit I got from MOTU a few years ago. Out of the box the bar graph displays were off - even channels display on the odd bar graphs, and odd channels display on the even graphs. I'm adept enough with a soldering iron that I suspect I can fix thi...

My thoughts exactly. I've seen some decent clocks go for pretty cheap on eBAY lately.

Understood, and a poor choice of words on my part - it improves the output from the converter, which is really what I'm interested in.

Sanity Check - Upgrading from a 24i

I've been using a 24i for several years (WINTEL), and it's worked well for me. I'd like to upgrade my converter setup, but don't want to spend a bundle. I'm not excited about higher sampling rates - I just want a step up from where I'm at. I'd like to end up with more outputs (the 24i only has one p...

My experience:
Don't waste your time with email. Call them - sit on the redial button until you break through the busy signal. Once you get them on the phone they'll take care of you.

You haven't given any guidelines on cost either - if you really want to aim low, a pair of Behringer ECM8000s will run you under $80, and they do OK. This was recorded in a small church with said mics spaced about 27" apart in the middle of the room. http://www.cheap-tracks.com/mp3/cheap-tracks...

I am also a fan of Audition, but I might suggest you take a look at the Samplitude rental option. http://www.samplitude.com/de/sfr.htm

Re: Field Record setup Suggestions Please

This seems like the sort of thing that sounds best as a unit without much image. One things I've done is record with an "MS" setup using an omni and a figure 8. I then MS-mix in just a wee bit of the figure 8 to give it some width - but not enough that it breaks the group into individuals.

Re: AMD MBD for PCI324 (&424)

Thanks. I knew AMD tags did not reflect actual clock speeds, but I figured numbers like 3700 would have an actual clock above 3GHz. I obviously have not done my homework.

AMD MBD for PCI324 (&424)

My main non-DAW is an 800 MHz P3. My DAW is a 2.4 GHz P4 (400 FSB). My sound card is a MOTU PCI324 into a 24i. I want to upgrade the Non-DAW, but figure if I can upgrade two computers for the price of one, why not? AMD seems to be getting good press these days - wondering what motherboards/chipsets ...
