B.Hornsby sound? /James, not sure where to place topic

Hi, this topic might belong to another section but I do not know where it belongs. As I understood some of you are using Synthogie's Ivory Grand Pianos. Still climbing my learning curve I am trying to get a grip on the piano sound of Bruce Hornby's Harbour Light. Does anyone have an idea how to come...

Hello Folks, The last days I have been trying to get my Sym.Orc. Platinum XP bundle (Plus) from EW installed. Though I have bought the software somewhere between Q3/Q4 2008, I did not expect any problems if I would install it after other issues regarding health problems and room treatment had been s...

Re: Is there someone who could help with installing PLUG-INS???

Most plug-in installers are pretty self-explanatory, and will automatically deposit the correct type of plug in the correct Library folder (in some cases, you'll have to make sure that the "AU" option is selected in types of plug-ins your installer can install, since VST, RTAS, AS and TDM...

Re: Is there someone who could help with installing PLUG-INS???

Thank you Guys. I still need to get used to not installing the MS Office Way, where I would make folders and maps for instrument type of groups (e.g. voices, drums & percussion, piano & keyboards, guitars & basses, strings & sound effects) as the Plug-ins and OS X seem to know which ...

Is there someone who could help with installing PLUG-INS???

Hello Folks, Some of you might remember from last year that my experience with sequencer recording is quiet limited and outdated, not to say antic  . I'm talking about the time of ATARI/Cubase 1.0, Tripple Dat & PC/Logic 2.0-4.0, just to give you an idea. As a result the subj...

Re: Need some advise regarding sounds of 60's and 70's

2 things to achieving that sound. 1 A great sounding space to record in, small boxy rooms a NO NO. 2 The right mics and pre's, if you can hire a U47 and a neve 1073 or V72 or similar. If you can't afford these try every mic and Pre you have. A lot of the sounds from the 50's and 60's was far miced ...

Re: Need some advise regarding sounds of 60's and 70's

Regarding session preparation, are you doing this as a one man band or are you actually hiring musicians for the tracking? @Johnny I have been informed that he will only bring / use one guitar player whenever the it's time to record the guitar track. @ Don't do that unless you want it to sound like...

the patchbay should work perfect for your application. Just try to patch condernser mics, before turning on the p-48 V because the patch can shortcut it for very short times, taht should be avoided. beside that the is no problem in using a patchbay to connect mics and preamps. if you can get it in ...
