disappearing export formats

I can report that I had the same problem and the fix described here (simply opening the "edit audio formats" window once), seemed to do the trick for me too. Weird bug. Thanks for the tips!

DP 5.1, Macintel and the Tascam DM3200/4800 Firewire Card

Hey folks- Following board procedure I did a search for the Tascam 3200 and came across a couple big threads from last fall/winter. It seems like the jury was still out. Is anyone using this mixing board? Anyone using the Firewire interface card that recently came out? With a Macintel? I'd love to h...

You might want to specify what kind of digi hardware and computer/OS and version of DP you have for more specific answers. Off the top of my head... For DAE-- Pros: Uses your digi hardware for most of your audio processing, taking a huge load off your computer and leaving that for additional RTAS pl...

That said, Digi should do a much better job communicating with us too, considering how much more the hardware costs than the software. Knowing Digi, the MOTU DAE thing is something they probably 'tolerate' more than 'support'. I'm surprised they even agreed to it in the first place considering thei...

I also have some of the same issues using DAE and DP5. The MIDI wait issue is huge for me. I also sometimes have a problem with DP randomly not playing some audio assignments. By that I mean that if I'm recording a large number of audio tracks at the same time, some mono outputs do not play through...

AAF Files from FCP. Anyone? OMFs? OMG.

Hi Post people- I'm mixing a feature length doc for which I did the score. It's a small operation and the director's fairly technophobic. I had him make me an OMF and an AAF as well as a reference AIFF. I could open the OMF, made by Final Cut Pro, and that got me all the audio on tracks but no mix i...

dp 4.61 with DAE

I did exactly what you did, bought an HD2 system to use with DP. First off I should say that there were bugs (under DP 4.6) that ultimately led me to switch to PT full time, because once I got used to the power of HD, there was no going back. That said, as far as I can tell, these bugs are gone as ...

"Unknown Exception" Error--- anyone else?

Hi there folks- I already searched motu's tech docs with no luck. Switching between projects and sometimes between chunks within projects I am frequently getting this: Digital Performer has encountered an error. Unknown Exception error reported by PerfError: vector::insert length error After this ha...

As far as RTAS and TDM on the same track, I think you might be able to start TDM and then go RTAS, but not the other way around. I might be wrong about that, but I believe it's pretty limited in that respect.

No one has mentioned RTAS! In DAE mode you can run both TDM and RTAS plugs, and RTAS plugs are technically native-powered plugins. Many third-party MAS plugs are also available RTAS. The MOTU stock plugs are not available RTAS, though.

I've had offset problems with the quicktime export too. I haven't investigated exactly what's going on but got in the habit of creating a separate sequence with no offsets to make everything sync correctly. You need to highlight the movie track in the track list on the left side of the track editing...

where did you read that? DAE mode improved significantly with the last two upgrades so that would surprise me a great deal.
