3/4 is easy - just don't hold down the key (or MIDI event) as long.
Now, doing 5/4 or 6/8 - THAT gets tricky!

Just an update if anyone is interested - I installed Temperature Monitor and CHUD Tools about a month ago, and have only had about one Kernel Panic a week since then, as opposed to (sometimes) several per DAY ! Three of the four kernel panics happened when my temps were in the high 150s or 160s. The...

By default, the instruments are also limited to their real range. You can override this if you like, but I like leaving this as-is. Stan How do you override the range? I could not find the function for this... Use the controls in the Pitch section. The orange-ish buttons provide audio transposition...

There is an even easier fix: I went into DPs preferences, and mucked around a bit, just clicking and tweaking a few things. After I did that - changing nothing related to the problem, because there ARE NO prefs related to the problem - everything was hunky dory. I guess the prefs file was re-written...

Ok guys, no joke. I just hate throwing books away. It always seems so wrong to me. Even out-of-date software manuals. And if there is one thing I have learned from 23 years in the music biz (first music computer was a Commodore 64 with 'Sonus Super Sequencer' - I started using Performer in 1992), an...

Left Orbit Temple - mixed on DP3!
This is some music I put together in 1999/2000 - recorded and mixed on DP3!

Resurrecting this project right now, and doing it on DP5... details when it's done (probably 2010 the way I work!).

Perfromer 6 User manul - up for grabs
Anyone need a Performer 6 user manual?
I was gonna recycle it but I figured I'd see if anyone here needs it.
PayPal me $6 for postage, and it's yours.
550 pages of MIDI goodness....
I'll post again when it is gone.

Thanks guys. I have seen old models with and without USB, so I was aware of that. I just wasn't sure if there were any other functional improvements in the new model. So they just gave it a facelift and bus-power capability and that's it? Seems like a lot of expense for MOTU to go through without ad...

I just installed the 1.0.1 upgrade. Right after the install finished, I launched the program to check out any differences, and I noticed that my HD had about 8 gigs more space than it had previously... The installer, for some reason, completely wiped out the sound library. Reinstalling it now... Meh!

MOTU MicroExpress - differences between new and old version?
Hi I see MOTU MicroExpress going for about $250 retail these days. This is usually for the 'new' version, on which the MIDI activity lights are rectangular, and are stacked up in vertical columns. I can get an 'old' version for half of that - but I am wondering what the difference is (the 'old' vers...

I bought my dual 1.25 GHz MDD G4 second-hand almost a year ago, and have had nothing but problems with it. Screen-freezes and Kernel Panics almost daily. I have long suspected that this is a thermal problem, but the crash logs that are generated are always different, always specifying new problems. ...
