Re: Unable to select VI MIDI input

Hahaha! Yeah, I am finally finishing an album I started in 2006 as I am working with a producer, and half the tracks are in DP so I am going through and cleaning up source files for him.

Unable to select VI MIDI input

Hey everyone! I was opening an old project in DP10, and I've noticed that all my virtual instruments MIDI inputs are showing up in italics. For instance, I have a track with nanosampler on it (called nanosampler-1), I can open up nanosampler, and see everything is there (my sample and settings) Howe...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

I'm going to agree with both of you. For most things, I prefer the bezier style curves. I've used DP quite a bit and I've used many other DAWs that do interpolation of the lines. I agree that it is much faster to edit bezier curves to fine tune larger sections of a curve very easily. Think of a fade...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Haha, well maybe Microsoft doesn't update their own FAQs, but it definitely says: "If the program is specifically designed for the 64-bit version of Windows, it won't work on the 32-bit version of Windows." In that link I posted. I am not a Windows user anymore so I can't say. My work lapt...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Also, Snow Leopard defaults to 32-bit kernel but can run 64-bit code. My system prefs say otherwise. I've never done anything to switch to 64bit on this computer, and it's currently booting 64bit. It may be computer dependent. This is a brand new (9 month old) MacBook Pro 13". Actually, you ar...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

My understand is the 4GB limit in 32 bit is per app. So whilst 64 bit Photoshop may address 12 GB, and Final Cut X another 8GB, a 32 bit DP running on the same machine will still be limited to 4GB even though another 12 GB is available and that limitation extends to VIs hosted in the 32 bit app. An...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Haha, still keeping the SuperNova II. In fact, I just agreed to buy a Bass Station and a Drum Station from someone local that wanted to part with them. I admit, I am addicted to hardware. And I still use A LOT of software synths as well (my sig is very out of date). When I mention not upgrading to D...

Re: DP8 announced: 64 bits and available for Windows!

Looks like a good thing that I didn't upgrade to DP7 yet since I see DP8 is just around the corner. Personally I think it's a great thing that MOTU has diversified DP to be on the windows platform as well. I work with non-Apple centric people all the time, at least now, I can get them to pick up DP ...

Re: Does DP7 include MW Collection...

Default keybindings. They would NOT set the start/stop on the loop points. All I can think is some combination of drivers is causing a conflict on that machine. VERY strange. Works fine on my MacBook Pro. :)

Ahhhh, the joy of computers! :)

Re: Does DP7 include MW Collection...

That's good to know that it has been trouble free. Well, DP6 I've always had problems with on my Mac Pro and even a reinstall didn't fix it (meaning, reinstalled EVERYTHING on a blank formated drive). For some reason, the loop points I could not set with the hot keys no matter what I tried, and I us...

Re: Does DP7 include MW Collection...

I've not moved to Lion yet, I am very happy with Snow Leopard and just the effort for me to change my OS is just not something I want to invest time in. As they say, if it isn't broke, don't touch it! :) That's nice about the channel strips. That is something I used often when I was using Logic, as ...

Re: Does DP7 include MW Collection...

The thing I like about live, for dance music, is the session view. It really is a whole new beast. It has taken my music production in a totally different direction because of the different work flow. That said, the arrangement view, well, I think DP has this down perfect. I tend to try and not use ...
