I may have a solution for you. The almost identical thing just happened to me. I had my unit connected to a Mac Mini with Thunderbolt and the unit worked flawlessly. Then I decided to get a 2010 Mac Pro and upgrade it all the way and use it as my main work horse in the studio. Of course this compute...
