iZotope display issues
I've started using Neutron 2 Advanced and Ozone 8 Advanced in my projects, and noticed I can rarely get the spectrographs (such as in the EQ modules) to display smoothly. During playback, they will lag or freeze when more than just a few tracks are playing. Closing one of the DP windows (I usually d...

Re: Need help adjusting soundbite tempos
Been using DP for a number of years now and didn’t know this existed yet. Thanks!bayswater wrote: There is a 5 part series of videos from MOTU covering all there is on Audio Tempo, well worth the few minutes it takes.

Re: Need help adjusting soundbite tempos
That works great for fitting the whole soundbite to a new fixed tempo, but it doesn't look like it allows you to change the tempo over time.bayswater wrote:Did you try the "Scale Time" command in the Regions menu?

Need help adjusting soundbite tempos
I can't seem to get any of this straight, even after reading the manual's section on soundbite tempos. I'm simply trying to have a soundbite linearly increase tempo. I'm guessing the only way to do this is to have it "locked" with the Conductor track tempo? I've tried "Analyze Tempo&q...

Copying MIDI data from multiple tracks
Is there a way within MIDI Editor to move/cut/copy/paste all the MIDI data of multiple tracks? When I have multiple tracks selected and I shift a measure of notes, velocities, and expression I want to move, it only shifts all the notes of the tracks but only the MIDI cc data of the Master-Selected M...

Re: Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
Thanks, guys. Sounds like lawyer review is worth doing despite the size of this job. I will find someone. If it's a national spot, then get a lawyer or someone you trust who's been around that block. It's national. And that being said, could I contact your lawyer? I'm guessing this isn't state-speci...

Re: Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
All the advice here is helpful, but maybe I should clarify my specific situation since, as MLC mentioned, all scenarios are different. In my case, we're talking about a job that's paying a little more than a few grand. The work is done, the client has the master, and nothing has been signed yet. I k...

Re: Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
Nothing has been signed yet, no one's getting screwed, and I have all 3 (and read 2) of those books :| . Those books unfortunately don't come with boilerplate contracts so I'm guessing most composers just wing it until they have made a large enough fortune to afford a lawyer, or they use dad's lawye...

Re: Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
Do not sign "perpetual" anything (unless you get paid a lot)! At least negotiate the license to end after 5 years... Otherwise, they will most likely NEVER use the music again (typically they need it for a year at the most), and it will effectively die with them. If they liberate your mus...

Re: Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
Surprisingly....no. I thought this would be a work-for-hire job, but I am able to keep all the rights to the music and retain publishers share. So they are treating it as a licensing contract.mikehalloran wrote:As well in Work for hire?

Anyone willing to share their license agreement?
I wrote a cue for a 30sec tv spot, and it's being treated as a perpetual license agreement for use in that ad. Hiring a composer is a first for the production company, so I may need to provide my own perpetual license agreement. I have some messages out to lawyers to hopefully purchase one, but I'm ...

Re: How to rename soundbite files?
What about when cutting up the parent file and needing to rename the newly cut soundbites and have those reflected in Finder/Explorer? For example, I am sampling a piano and have each note recorded in one long audio file. I'd like to clip each note into a separate soundbite file, and have each clipp...

How to rename soundbite files?
Is there a way to rename soundbites in DP so that the associated .wav file changes names as well? Whenever I rename a soundbite, the new name is in the soundbite list and on the soundbite itself, but when I "Show in Explorer" the .wav file never changed. On top of that, when merging a soun...
