This will probably be better answered on the Mac section of the forum, not here, the Windows section.

Amplifier power cycle crashes MOTU UltraLite mk3 Hybrid
Took me a while to figure this out, but if I power cycle my amp, an Adcom GFA-535ii, it will cause the UltraLite to stop responding to the PC, until I power cycle the interface. This doesn't happen every single time, but will happen within 10 cycles, even if the power change has a 10 second delay be...

Re: Ultralite MK3 Hybrid Nothing but problems....
try going to the device manager and showing hidden devices. manually uninstall each one related to motu. reboot. reinstall drivers.
also try unchecking wavert in the motu control panel to "fix" crackling audio after a half hour or so.

Re: Ultralite mk3 and AVB on same computer?
don't know about avb and mkiii, but mkiii fw and pcie (2408) work fine together.
as for crackling after a few hours, turn off wavert in the control panel.

It's most definitely a MOTU issue.

Re: UltraLite mk3 hybrid, Win 8.1, need to reboot for output
It happens to me as well. If I have WaveRT turned off, I can usually get the device back online by turning it off then on again.

Re: 8pre noise after a while :/
If you have an open slot and access to a PCIE FW card, it may be worth a shot trying it out, as onboard FW is using the chipset in most cases. I'm not *completely* positive the chipset connections are a problem, but they seem to negatively impact life on my end. If there's a fry's or BB nearby, you ...

Re: 8pre noise after a while :/
If you have a recent Intel based PC, look into which slot the FW card is in. You will probably have to read the manual to find out which ones are which, but you will want a slot that *does not* come off the chipset, but originates with the CPU. PCIEv3 slots originate at the CPU. A 1x, 4x, or 8x slot...

Re: 8pre noise after a while :/
Success!.....or at least a *bit* of a thread thereof... Configuration: Win8.1x64 VIA FW Legacy Mode MOTU Ultralight mk3 WaveRT OFF 44.1khz, 512 samples latency Winamp will play a stream for at *least* 12 hours without corruption, as opposed to 2 hours with the WaveRT drivers enabled. Tonight I will ...

The newest MOTU drivers don't appear to uninstall completely, so: Switching from USB to FW on mk3 devices: Try going into device manager, clicking on "show hidden devices", then uninstalling all references to MOTU and all grayed out USB devices that are of "Not Plugged In" type s...

Re: 8pre noise after a while :/
Thanks! I *am* on firewire now, and I also am on the legacy FW drivers. I initially tried a TI FW card..... which didn't work. So I tried a VIA FW card.... which also resulted in no sound playing, but communication with the device otherwise (such as changing sample rates) worked. So, having started ...

Re: 8pre noise after a while :/
I'm having a similar issue on both my Ultralite mk3 and my 896mk3 .... on both machines! USB seems to aggravate the issue, and I can set the Ultralite off (haven't tried the other) merely by starting a stream (any stream, anywhere) and rapidly moving my mouse over buttons on in a webpage on either C...
