Re: v9.52 on Sonoma 14.2.1: App menus not opening on direct click?
Whoops, I even read the other thread: https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73513 but didn't read carefully enough as I thought that was about internal app menus. FWIW, double click doesn't work for in my scenario but, looks like it's 11.23 on up to resolve. Just wanted to confirm before ...

v9.52 on Sonoma 14.2.1: App menus not opening on direct click?
On M1 MBP 16", software details in title. Noticed the app menu(the os level bar): File, Edit, View, Region, Etc... will not open on click. They will however open if you first click on the Digital Performer(or Apple) menu and mouse move down. Not an efficient long term workaround. Can anyone els...

Re: MIDI recording late
Chiming in to hopefully save others continued frustration and time. Accurate MIDI record timing has been broken since DP 9.1. MOTU tech confirmed back then and more recently mentioned there would be a fix in 11.03. I'm still using 9.52 and haven't got around to confirming myself but will soon. The b...

Re: Improve DP's MIDI Timing
Interestingly, I am experiencing no MIDI lag with hardware in DP 10.1. In 9.52, any MIDI I recorded on external synths would play back anywhere from 15 to 30 ticks late, so I would have to shift the MIDI earlier, or shift the recorded audio earlier by that amount to get it to line up with my sequen...

Re: Improve DP's MIDI Timing
Besides potentially being an issue with the unintuitive "Sync Recorded MIDI to Patch Thru" setting in MIDI patch thru... There's been a MIDI recording accuracy bug in DP for 3years since post v9.1. Likely a bug from the pregen enhancement. This has been confirmed by motu. Not sure it was f...

Instrument bundles question
Recently installed Reaper along with DP. I now see Reaper bundles 1...32 in the instrument bundles tab along with UVI Falcon(which I have as well even though none in project). Question I have is what "registers" something in the instrument tab and, how can you get rid of them as an option ...

Re: DP9.1 Meters to Audio & Aux Tracks Not Reflecting Panni
Just noticed this and just thought it was a bug. I'd rather track meters show post panned signal. To me give better visual feedback of the mix layout. Ideally should be configurable. Odd...

Re: MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
It is important to note that it took about 18-19 ms from key strike to key bottom with weighted key while generating velocity of 127 (meaning shortest time from strike to bottom). This puts things in perspective. Key Depress (Bottom) - Buffer 128 MIDI Event ahead of Audio by about 1.5 ms. Key Strik...

Re: MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
Just want to jump back in and reiterate that the 3ms offset that's getting the most discussion is only one of many outcomes. Often I'm tracking at 128 or even 2048(without patch thru) and in those cases the offset can be greater than 20ms in one direction. While 3ms IS an issue for the higher tempo/...

Re: MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
Here’s something I recently learned that may or may not help: any plug ins (like mastering limiters, etc) on a master fader are not latency compensated and this will wreak havoc with timing when trying to record MIDI late in a project or if you like to work with a limiter etc on a master fader. A w...

Re: MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
3ms is a problem? Lol Yes. But I think you're missing the point. It's variability that's the issue and, your buffer size is going to change at times. Are you going to want to test offset each time? Plus, MIDI Time Stamping has been built in to core MIDI and was part of MOTU's interfaces back to os9...

Re: MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
Cool thanks for confirming. FYI I've been in contact with tech support as well. This was good to validate across systems and rule out any user test error. Hopefully fixed soon... Just to confirm for others reading, this is not an issue with MIDI to VI playback. That's fine, I think within 1sample. T...

MIDI timing issues in DP & maybe osx in general
Something I've witnessed since 9.13. Different audio buffer settings are causing varying offsets in MIDI timing, at least relative to performance. Here's an example of a test: Macbook Pro 15 mid 2015 1248 over USB - latest drivers/firmware Fastlane over USB - latest MIDI drivers DP 9.52 76360 I had ...

Re: Is it just me or everyone that adjust sends crashes DP?
I ALSO get crashes on send adjustments. Haven't yet determined if there's an exact sequence but this has happened since...it has happened for a few minor releases at least.
