8pre usb on iMac M4 Sequoia 15.3.2 - No Audio out
Hi. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I recently migrated from Windows 10, and am having trouble getting my 8pre usb working on iMac. I was able to install the drivers and software. The system recognizes the unit. The unit appears in Audio MIDI Setup (both audio device and MIDI device) I a...

8pre USB not recognised, or no sound at start-up
I have been having these issues almost half the time I start up. -Rarely, the 8pre is not recognized at all, and I have to restart, sometimes just the sound card, sometimes the whole system. -More frequently, there is no sound. Often I can remedy this as follows: -- Right click the speaker icon in t...

Re: Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
I have ASIO4ALL installed, but I have read about issues with it regarding MOTU, and it did not have any effect on my specific MIDI issue. I don't see how I could have a loop... only one sound module in the MIDI chain, started with an empty project, and added only one MIDI track, disabled all plugins...

Re: Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
Thee trouble reappeared today with delay times up to 4 - 5 minutes !! I tested another keyboard (M-AUDIO prokeys88) and the same problem persists. I was told today by a MOTU tech that others have reported the same issue, and the one common thread seems to be Windows7. (If windows is the answer, it w...

Re: Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
MOTU tech is baffled as well. They plan to test my controller (KORG K61P) and see if that is causing the issue. In the mean time, the work-around is to plug the controller directly into the 8pre's MIDI-IN rather than use USB. So far that is working fine.

Re: Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
Yes, it is very odd. I am still working on it. Removing (moving to the desktop) the following files helped temporarily: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\MOTU\MOTU Audio System and: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\MOTU\Digital Performer\Preferences But the issue returned almost immediately. Also, ...

Re: Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
Thanks for the reply. This was my first thought also, and I tested my hardware and OS as follows: Disabled all network devices, and stopped unnecessary services. Ran DPClat, which showed highest latency at 274µs. Using MidiOx I mapped USB keyboard as MIDI input device, and MOTU 8pre as MIDI output d...

Up to 1 minute delay in MIDI to external devices !!!
I am experiencing terrible MIDI latency problems. I am able to play/monitor soft-synth with no latency, but external devices do not receive MIDI signals for up to a minute. MOTU support suggested this may be a USB 3.0 issue, but my interface is connected to a USB 2.0 port. DP8, 8pre USB, Windows7 ho...

Re: New 8pre USB too wide to fit standard 19" rack
Very interesting stuff Mike. Thank you Shooshie. I have also built several cases and cabinets, and I have never had any issues until now. That being said, the case in question here is an SKB molded 6U; it should not be a problem. Also, you may well be correct, submarine bulkheads were likely designe...

Re: New 8pre USB too wide to fit standard 19" rack
MOTU has agreed to send me another set of rack ears. They "don’t expect this to make much of a difference - however, best of luck"
In the mean time, I have taken a flat file and modified the ears to fit.

New 8pre USB too wide to fit standard 19" rack
Has anyone else experienced this trouble? I have removed and re-installed the rack ears, thinking they might snug in closer to the unit, but that did not help. My SKB rack is in good shape, not bent, all other units fit just fine. I put a framing square on my 8pre, and it measures 19-1/16" I am...
