Re: Wandering Internal clock

I second NazRat, Windows drivers are pretty dodgy for real time audio, try ASIO4ALL and see how you get on it usually works OK with the Realtek chipsets (that I think your laptop has). It should certainly be good enough for doing your drum lines. I've run some quite big projects on my laptop with DP...

Re: Wandering Internal clock

I've not noticed this problem on my laptop (yet!) and use EZdrummer (superiors poor cousin).

What audio interface/drivers are you using? If using on board audio ASIO4ALL seems to give good results for me and I've tried it on a couple of different laptops.

Autosave issues with MOTU instruments....

Weirdly I get an error when a project tries to autosave and there is a MOTU instrument enabled. I then get the option to locate a folder to save the autosave in but it won't work and you have to cancel the dialog until autosave comes back around again. This goes away if you expressly tell DP8 to run...

Re: DP8 in W8

Hmm.... I haven't tried rewire yet but maybe I'll see if it causes problems on my Win 8 64bit laptop. At the moment it runs great for me(for the most part!). Maybe it is a graphics card/chip issue. I was running some sessions yesterday to full HD vid output to another screen and it was very smooth b...

Re: Issues with VSTs and ASIO but I like it!

Thanks for the suggestion Don T. I just had another look and most VSTs come up with a mono or stereo choice but the novation ones have neither. I tried adding an empty instrument and selecting plugin after the fact (rather than creating it with the instrument populated from the context menu) but tha...

Re: Issues with VSTs and ASIO but I like it!

Yup the Novation plugins are Win 8 compatible (even listed as such on the Novation website). The same problem occurs on both machines the same way(Win 7 32 and Win 8 64). DP sees them and they show as passed in the plug in settings dialog but they don't appear in the instrument list or even effects ...

Re: Issues with VSTs and ASIO but I like it!

OK so 8.03 solves a couple of the issues!

MIDI can now be dragged from EZdrummer and the ASIO drivers seem more stable.

Good work chaps. Now for the missing plugins......

Issues with VSTs and ASIO but I like it!

Hi All Like a lot of people I've been waiting for DP8 on Windows since it was announced... and waiting... so I was very pleased to get the email saying the demo had finally arrived. Over the years I've worked with most PC DAWs starting out on Cakewalk Pro Audio in the mid 90s, through Logic until ap...
