Re: BFD VST examination not passing.
I gave the demo one more try on my second machine, and it's just as bad. I have the exact same issue you mention. It still won't even recognize many of my VI's Yes, I've tried all of the "tricks" with no avail. MOTU should admit DP8 isn't going to cut it on Windows, plain and simple...it i...

Re: Horrible font display in DP8 on Windows 8
I have a pair of 24" LCD's in front of me, I agree the fonts are terrible. You can't even enlarge the mixer when placed in its own monitor!!!

Re: Best way to interface with East West Play?
Can't I just have a single MIDI track and single instrument track for ALL of the Violin I patches I wish to use? How did you guys tackle this problem? Thanks in advance! Have you tried the expression mapping in Cubase 7?? Hey, are you using Play in 64bit inside DP8? If so, did you have any trouble ...

Re: VST Instrument Plug-ins Sending MIDI
Have you had any luck yet, getting DP 8 on Windows to load Kontakt 5? I just downloaded the DP 8.04 demo and am having the same problem. I own Kontakt 5. I'm running both DP8 and K5 in 64 bit mode, on Win 7 64. I've had no problems getting K5 recognized in R e a p e r or Cubase. I've looked in the ...

Re: DP8 For Windows, New to DP8
I went back to Sonar X2 (and Logic on Mac). I tried everything to get DP to recognize certain VST's (Kontakt, Play, etc) in 64bit mode (yes, all the plugs are 64bit) with no luck. A real disappointment. I'm going to try it on Mac and see if it's any different. The diehard users just say I'm too used...

Re: Stability on Windows
Did you try the demo?? VEPro is recommended IMO, since DP is very picky about which VST's it likes. If you're lucky with VE, you will be able to run any of your VST's since that's where they will be hosted. I use heavy orchestral templates using Eastwest libraries (Hollywood Strings, SYmphonic Orche...

Re: DP installer very slow
For one, much of the GUI and text are far too small for HD monitors. Yes, that was strange....I couldn't find any setting to enlarge the text, and the mixer was very tiny as well (even on my large HD monitors). This must be a windows bug because when I see screen shots from Mac, it looks very diffe...

Re: DP installer very slow
Yep, loads slow as hell on a PC....and takes forever to scan VST's, even though about 40% of mine didn't "pass". (wait until you try uninstalling, that is another adventure LOL!). Very strange considering they are legit plugs that work great in Pro Tools 10 and Cubase 7. Actually, it won't...

Re: Digital Performer 8 produced no sound in WIn 7
I have three reasons for wanting to try DP... 1) It's scoring-to-picture features (streamers, chunks, etc, export, etc). There's no doubt these are excellent. 2) Finally a demo. 3) I work with a few collegues internationally (I'm in Canada) that have DP in their setups and thought it would be easier...

Re: Digital Performer 8 produced no sound in WIn 7
DP8 is a complicated program with a steep learning curve. The fact that a complete user manual is missing doesn't help. I think MOTU should definitely include a complete video tutorial with the software, otherwise nobody is going to buy it unless they are updating or crossgrading. I'm going to unin...

Re: Digital Performer 8 produced no sound in WIn 7
Yes, I'm on Win 7 64bit. Funny how MOTU overlooked such a basic feature that most other DAW's have. There's definitely a bug with the windows graphics. For example, when I maximize the mixer in my second monitor, it is very small.

IS there a way to keep the VST GUI window open (floating) all the time? I noticed that once you click another window, it immediately disappears.

[quote="Agent of Random Don't need to set up a V-Rack, Don't need to set up a bundle...not sure what you are running into. The only big difference is you need to make a MIDI track separately for a VI (since many VIs are multi-channel this makes sense,) but there is an easy command for that - Sh...
