Re: DP11 is here!
And I don’t know of other DAWs that required an integer update for Big Sur compatibility. Totally agree ... *everyone* else provided Big Sur & M1 compatibility as a free update and before and paid versions. DP11 seems to have a good deal of new features, however, ethically MOTU should have prov...

metering
Is there yet an option to toggle between pre-or post- fader metering in the mixing board, DP 9 or 10?
Thanks

Re: Digital Performer Vs Logic Pro X
FWIW: its not just vs. Logic, but any modern DAW for that matter- Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, Reason, Studio One, etc. The main barrier to entry and/or more regular use (for me & other colleagues) is DP's graphic real estate, windows and fonts which are difficult to read and use easily. Thi...

Re: DP and Mission Control
Not sure if this is what you want, but DP has also been driving me nuts with two screens and the way it boots into a new space [that's both on OS X 10.9.5 and 10.10b5]. This is what works for me: 1) In System Preferences /Mission Control: uncheck 'Displays have separate Spaces', and 2) Hold-click DP...

Re: New Mac Pro - Where To Put My Sample Libraries
FWIW, have been using Crucial SSDs for a while now, sample lib issues seem to be invisible with all on a 960GB M500 (Mac Pro SATA bay). The other related factor is system drive, i.e., where the DAW boots from and accesses as required in its operations. (Ram too, of course, as much as possible). On a...

Doesn't exactly answer your Q, but:
I've had Logic running with ProTools for similar use, but on the same computer using the IAC bus and Soundflower. See http://www.laurensgoedhart.com/blog/tec ... e-machine/

Re: DP slower with DAW controllers compared to Live or Logic
Running Mackie MCU and Exp here. You're right, just a little more sluggish in DP8 than Logic, Live (or the incredibly responsive cocoks reaper ). Can't say it really concerns me tho'. Most noticeable in scrubbing, the DP performance meter going OTT constantly.

Re: Windows 8.05 not showing all my Waves and...
DP8.04 I found to be a real pig on Win8 in that i) it took forever to scan plugs and ii) for no good reason it rejected half of these (including latest UADs and Slate). Seemed to be that it just ran out of steam and 'failed' everything beyond a certain point. A good idea to delete all of the DP pref...

Re: ASIO error help!!!
See my other post about DP prefs in Windows. Delete the prefs inside User/'AppData' and this seems to take care of a multitude of sins. Would seem that DP constantly corrupts its prefs and in the case of the ASIO driver issue, in my experience, trashing the prefs allows to you to re-set this as it s...

Re: DP8 prefs and plugs on Windows
Found it. A hidden folder in the user dir called 'AppData' (like the Mac user/Library, you can set this as visible via the Control Panel 'Folder Options'). There's a MOTU folder and deleting this from time to time cleans up a host of (too) common errors - like losing the ASIO drivers & not being...

Re: DP8 prefs and plugs on Windows
Thanks, yes. Generally odd behaviour in DP8. VST64 plugin dir is the same for all audio apps (Programs/Steinberg/VST). Except that DP finds them (or at least shows them on the plugin list) irrespective of any setting for 'additional plugin folder' - in this case then, for now, with no entry at all. ...

DP8 prefs and plugs on Windows
Hi all, Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but couldn't find this: Could anyone advise where DP8(.04) stores its preference files in Windows? Also, how to force re-build a plug-in scan. Just want to do a simple trash prefs and start again ... Overall I've found VST plugins, their locatio...
