Thanks for the reply. Ended up going with the RME UFX for 2 reasons. Firstly the direct recording feature will be mighty handy to me, and the second is the software mix app is resizable which will make using it on my tablet much easier.

Is there seriously no-one who's run this thing through USB? Perhaps someone might have a suggestion on where else I might be able to ask. Am really keen to get some user feedback on running the 828 over USB before I go and buy one.
