electric & getting it to work
Hi, This may be helpful to someone ! - I've installed this on an XP32 install on X79 motherboard with RME AIO - I do have MOTU interfaces such as 828 ES & LP32 & 2 X 896 MK3 (firewire). OK - In the manual - a yellow A4 paper sheet for Windows it explains the directory path and where to put t...

LP 32 & mono & stereo channels
Hi,
I'm considering adding MOTU LP 32 to the 828-ES - Currently it's not connected so can't test it out. With LP32 there are 32 channels over Toslink ADAT - I'm just wandering how the configuring works from mono to stereo channels if an 8 mic preamp was added - Is this done in the MOTU application?

Re: MOTU 828 ES AVB streams
Hi, May I BUMP this post and re-phrase the question. I've got an 828 ES on order with the AVB network switch for future expansion. One area of confusion I have is with the number of AVB streams supported on the 828 ES unit. Is there any technical reason preventing the addition of other AVB units suc...

MOTU 828 ES AVB streams
Hi, I've got a question or two about the AVB streams on the various MOTU AVB interfaces which would probably affect maximum channel count within a system. As I've not used the interfaces yet it's best to ask about some of the possibilities. The 828 ES has 4 AVB streams - with 8 channels per stream =...

Re: USB2 interface to thunderbolt interface over AVB
Hi, I've got an 828 ES on the way! - The LP 32 via usb would be closed off I'd say and you would need AD/DA breakout boxes with analog I/O and use preamps etc....and or connect your line level as well plus the monitor speakers and everything else Another AVB interface would be needed to connect more...

Re: MOTU 16A
Right OK it doesn't matter - :) -fair enough as these are very capable units. With regard to computers, motherboards, processors, memory, interfaces etc.....the specs and understanding them generally is important and the MOTU units whether thunderbolt 1 or not doesn't matter as the performance envel...

Re: MOTU 16A
If these interfaces are thunderbolt eg_version 1 that would limit them to 10 Gb/s which is probably more than enough bandwidth anyway. You might get by with 10G. I think it has a practical limit of about 5000 tracks, although in theory it can do more. OK, thanks for the wise_crack :D - more ...

MOTU 16A
Hi, Just reading over these associated interfaces with AVB - How long have they been out for? - Will there be a change to MOTU interfaces eg_updating the software in any way or the hardware such as thunderbolt. The interaces show "Thunderbolt" on a mini_display_port but there is no mention...

Emulator X3 Proteus X2 Libraries
Hi, Do the Emulator X3 / Proteus X2 libraries now work with Mach 5? There was a problem a while ago with this and it may still be the case and with a lack of compatibility for Emulator X3 [other than Vista x64] it was rather difficult to use these libraries. Proteus X2 was 32 bit as well I think if ...

Re: Electric Keys
I don't have a Kurzweil 2000 but I do have a Yamaha EX5R which is apparently good for the electric piano. If the NI is bland then it should be a treat to have MOTU Electric Piano - And btw it arrived today, quick delivery and I got it cheaper than elsewhere, brand new in a box!

Re: Electric Keys
Thanks Bayswater - MOTU has a UK distributor that I got Mach Five 3 Update from and they also sell Electric keys but it sells for £250 which is expensive. Amazon had it on for around £180 which is still alot but much better than £250 so I've gone for that - Now that is sorted out a question on Elect...

Re: Electric Keys
Hi, I wasn't sure myself - Sometimes it could be an old webpage - I did check two shops in UK online and it seemed to be available - Also Amazon had it and was available with a bigger price difference - It doesn't seem to be available on the software page of MOTU but I did find updates for the softw...

Re: Mach 5 with 3rd party
It is supposed to work. http://www.motu.com/products/software/machfive/sounds.html#library-support Even though E-MU is in my back yard, the only product I own is their PROformance Plus MIDI module. I did ask one of their recently retired engineers and he believes that you should have no problem. Hi...
