Get MIDI monitor and have a look to see if its not a MIDI feedback loop somehow.
Confirm that your mod wheel is behaving correctly and not sending bad data.
Check to see if VEP is sending MIDI back to DP.

Track groups can be for editing or mixing, right?

You could always buy a stream deck and set up some buttons to shift set amounts for different libraries/articulations.
