MicroBook II performance
I just purchased a Microbook II. I installed the most current software from MOTU and powered it up. I am amazed by the performance of this thing. With Sonar X1 I am getting 6.0ms ROUNDTRIP latency @ 48khz and it is rock solid. I use a ton of heavy cpu load Vst instruments and effects plug-ins. I was...

Re: Audio Express and Ivy Bridge
After disabling my network connections and doing nothing else, my DPC Latency runs steady in and around 60us with occasional spikes up to 94. Running the DPC monitor while playing New York Grand instrument in Kontakt 4 at 96khz with 128 samples it stayed around 90us with spikes up to 120's. That ins...

My basic understanding of DPC Latency is that it has more to do with drivers & software and there are many, many reasons why you might get spikes. There are some posts on this thread that explain it well http://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/365525-what-dpc-latency.html Also, the link o...

Re: Audio Express: USB vs Firewire
To elaborate: What torrnentg said is correct. Its a performance improvement. I use a lot of cpu intensive vst instruments and I have experienced less drop out when using the firewire vs the usb. There is no audible difference that I can hear in the actual sound quality. @torrentg What drivers are yo...

Audio Express: USB vs Firewire
Just in case anyone is interested, I am using an Audio Express on a Rain Even Mini computer. Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I just installed a Syba PCI-Express Card TI Chipset and there is a noticeable improvement in performance vs USB. I would highly recommend using firewire if possible. Especially if your P...
