I've been using virharmonic bohemian violin and it works pretty well adapting articulations to what you input in once you get used to it . It has a lot of nice character to it . i have also found it doesn't work quite as well on existing MIDI parts that were played in previously.

I don't think you want to mute the console or you won't hear anything coming into DP from the apollo. You don't need the console open to hear anything either.
