Re: Is the 2014 Mac Mini a no go for DP?
I didn't read through this thread, but I will tell you I bought a 2013 mac mini, whatever the fastest one was with a lot of RAM and ended up not using it for my studio. The video implementation didn't work for me. I could never get two video outs out of it - something about the onboard video thing i...

Anyone using new garbage can mac pro?
I'm thinking about upgrading to the new mac pro. Anyone using it with DP 8.07? I will be using two monitors, the UA 16 with Thunderbolt, and VEP tied to a couple other rigs. Think I am going to rent one for a weekend and see how it goes, if possible! Any comments greatly appreciated. I tried to find...

Re: Bundle assignments don't stay fixed.
Same exact thing happens to me all the time. Sometimes I know I have to tickle a driver setting, and I know I am going to lose all my edited channel names for all 12 or so VEP instantiations. I have gotten to where I know what I am going to do is going to nuke the names, and I do it anyway if I need...

Re: Constantly have to re-enter channel names...
I have the same problem, and have for awhile. When I do something, oh open the wrong VEP instance, or tickle and audio setting in the driver or set up, something of the nature you describe, all of my names default to original. It's a pain!

Re: A general request to help problem-solve issues. . .
interesting to read about this. One of the things I most anticipated in DP8 is the new video management. My rig is solid, I will leave it, but definitely following the reports. Can't lose my 32 bit plugs, mp3 export, need to go back to 7.21 if it aint stable, Huh. Nice to read your info on this crai...

Re: DP 8
i thought i might elaborate for the benefit of those with 2007 mac pros. you never will be able to boot into a 64 bit kernel because of something called the efi. there is a test ypu can run to see if you have it. there is no firmware upgrade available. that said, a 64 bit app will still run under th...

Re: DP 8
for me 64 bit, 100% cocoa and new video handling is huge. i dont care so much about plug ins and sounds, i have my plug ins and sounds, i look to dp for stability and efficiency and elegance in getting the job done. it may push me into buying a new mac. my2007 mac pro, which is a rock, will never be...
