The Traveler has always been connected to the mains. Doesn't seem to fix the issue.
To top it off this morning a second Pre Amp failed, producing the same noise.
When I can, I will rip the thing out and test it in another room with another system, but I'm not very hopeful.

I too have had a lot of issues with noises from the mk3. First it was a *tst, bzz, tsk* noise. It happened every 30 seconds or so and only from the first audio output. This was linked to the firewire port of the iMac I was using, as it seems to be resolved when the Mac was replaced. Now with the new...
