Re: Recording a Gospel Quartet
Thanks Mike. That's what I needed to know, I think. I have never recorded a quartet. I haven't heard them, but I suspect there will be different people with lead parts at times. I guess I'll set up both mics and try to group them as you suggested.

Re: Recording a Gospel Quartet
Live with both Keyboards to start with, I guess with the players in the control room and the singers in the sound room for starters. Maybe record each singer individually after the initial first take. I have to do 10 songs, so it will take a while. Time doesn't matter to me, but it probably will to ...

Recording a Gospel Quartet
I need some tips on recording a quartet. It's a family who sings Southern Gospel. There will be two keyboards recorded direct in. One for a piano sound, the other Organ. I have a home studio with a simi sound proof room adjacent to the control room. I have one AT 4054. It's a LD condenser. I have an...

Re: 24/IO repair or replace.
I emailed MOTU support. They say they don't support this unit anymore. Say they have no spare parts. I ordered a used one and just Got it in and hooked up today. Works fine. I make an attempt to fix my other one my self if I can't find someone else to tackle it. MOTU won't provide schematics. Bummer...

Re: 24/IO repair or replace.
It will work fine sometimes. At times it will not be recognized after power up. It sits down after several minutes whin it works at all. Sometimes it might run for an hour or more. Makes me think it is a hardware issue with the unit. Could be the internal power supply I guess.

24/IO repair or replace.
Seems like my old 24/IO has died. I have a mid 2010 Mac Pro an need to find another audio interface. Not sure what to get. Don't know if the 24/ is repairable or not. I don't have to have 24 ins and outs, but it sure is nice. Seems like thunderbolt id taking over and my mac has no thunderbolt ports ...

Re: 24io and Audio MIDI Setup
Thanks, James. The app that you mentioned was the problem. I had to download an updated version of MOTU Audio after which all the inputs and outputs showed up.

24io and Audio MIDI Setup
The issue: Audio MIDI Setup sees the PCI-424, but it only shows 8 ins and 8 outs. I have a mac pro 8 core with latest OS; Sierra. I can record and playback through the first 8 channels, but the other two thirds don't appear. Am I missing something here? Does anyone have a similar setup that works co...

Re: Mackie Onyx 'i' Mixers
I have two Makie ONYX mixers . Both dead with no hope of getting them fixed. They died about 2 months after the warranty ran out. I replaced them with the Allen Heath WZ3 16-2. Not that I like it better as far as the features are concerned, but It is more durable. I have one I've had for 10 years an...

One Single Mono Channel Strip
Hi folks: I am thinking of getting a channel strip to both record and process live sound for both male and female vocals. What can I get that is decent sounding for $300-$500, $1000 max? I have an AT 4050, 4054, several Sure, Rode, EV and other mics. I track to performer 5 and also for remote tracki...

I am going to serve them notice according to the provision of the UA copyright Law. I have all the info I need to do this I think. Pursuant to the compulsory license provisions of the U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 115). It's all explained online at the US copyright site. http://www.copyright.gov/ I'...

I think I see why they do this. The publisher either don't have the time or means or inclination to handle the licensing. So they refer me to their Copyright Management company. Their objective of course is to make some money. That's fine by me. But I think their source of income should be the publi...
