Well, yesterday I ordered a PreSonus FaderPort (which comes with a Studio One Pro license) and I have been moving everything over to SO, so I am expecting MOTU to release DP 12 within days.
Dolby Atmos and Apple Spatial are two completely different formats... Actually, no they're not. Spatial Audio is Dolby Atmos, only with modifications. Apple takes the basic Atmos delivery, removes (or more correctly, ignores) the binaural settings we engineers so painstakingly set up. They apply th...
I think you may need special earbuds that are designed to reproduce spatial audio? And that basically the main thing is head tracking... so you move your head around and you get a sense of directionality? You can listen either way. I’m not sure about head tracking solutions for ATMOS. But Apple’s e...
Your post would be more accurately be titled: "Looks like it’s time FOR ME to move away from DP" Then do it, but don't expect to start a mass migration from this forum (or perhaps you're looking for a crying circle?) Sweet baby jebus MLC, keep your projections to yourself. How fvcking arr...
Really? So if I'm a musician/band and I want to make a stereo mix into an ATMOS mix, I can get everything I need to do that for $150? Links please? Yes. The cross grade price for PreSonus Studio One is $150. (See previous comments of mine above.) It comes with a very tightly (and elegantly) integra...
<sigh> I am not looking for affirmation of any kind. I don’t care what you think of my decision making. Really. I came to this forum to ask if others, like myself long-time DP users, were considering other options. I came here specifically because I am interested in how people have experienced the t...
I think you guys may be being a tad dismissive of the progression of spatial audio and its usefulness as a medium - for not only music, but video, art installations, etc. Apple’s spatial audio (different and distinct from ATMOS - they’re not the same) is really opening up possibilities for a new, mu...
…Just an FYI, DP11 is officially the oldest version of DP since version 4. The likelihood that DP12 is announced in the next couple months with Atmos and other significant improvements is IMO at somewhere around 80-90%. Looking at MOTU's release dates for version upgrades there's a near zero patter...
I have read everyone’s comments with great interest. The issue of having to learn a new DAW is real - that’s been the main thing keeping me plugging away with DP, even though it doesn’t have the spatial audio capabilities I want for my current projects. I agree with everyone saying MOTU ought to fin...
I started using DP awhile ago. One of the main reasons I chose DP was because it supported surround sound formats. But DP has been lagging behind other DAWs with surround/binaural/Atmos capability for awhile now, and I just don’t see any point in hanging on any longer, waiting for MOTU to catch up. ...
Glad you got it sorted. I still can't get the arp out sidechain thing working with the latest versions of everything. I had hoped version 6 would fix the problem, but alas... I can't get the MIDI out from the arpeggiator to work either. I previously raised a ticket with Arturia (during version 5), ...
Annnnd now it's fixed. I used Arturia's Software Centre app to reinstall Pigments. (A little drop down menu next to the Uninstall button.) Apart from forgetting which preset I had loaded in the project I had been working on, everything seems 100% normal. All my sound banks and favorites are there. I...
