Re: Little quick help needed, exporting soundbites...

Thanx for that tip Jim! I had not ever thought of looking @ AE's preferences for audio. I only use the audio in AE to: 1) give me a guide for syncing up visuals with sounds and 2) I have started to use the convert>audio to keyframes ability in AE to get a set of keyframes that I can use to directly ...

Re: Little quick help needed, exporting soundbites...

I guess no-one else was too interested in this -but I had to, so I have figured out how to do it. Here is the simplest solution... If you have a 5.1 SDII file (as an output from DP) it consists of 5 separate mono files. If you need to get them into After Effects as guide-tracks, the easiest way is t...

Re: Little quick help needed, exporting soundbites...

Thanx for your reply. 3. Since you are trying to export, you may have already done a 5.1 mix- and the mix appears as one file within DP soundbites window or 5.1 tracks- but are actually already a group of 6 mono files on your disk. Try opening them individually within the other program if it support...

Re: Little quick help needed, exporting soundbites...

Thanx Vbass, yeah, I am selecting the soundbite that I want to export. In fact, if I select other soundbites (as in straight stereo soundbites) the 'Export Soundbites' option is available (its not greyed-out). Methinks it has sumthing to do with the fact that the soundbite I am after happens to be 5...

Little quick help needed, exporting soundbites...

I have done a 5.1 mix of a piece I have been working on. I now want to export the mix to AIFF, WAV or something similiar so that I can do some work with it in After Effects, but... the "Export Soundbites" command in the mini-menu of the Soundbites window is greyed-out. I am stumped, what c...

Re: Should I buy a 2408mkII/PCI-324 for DP/Surround or am I

I do all my work in surround, and one of the things I really would like to have is one of those little sticks-o-joy. There is the new Yamaha DM1000 , and there is also the Tascam 2400 . Very different beasts of course, the Tascam is purely a controller, but if you are working in surround, trust me, ...

Re: Compressing QT movie

The H. 264 codec is amazing, so I'm planning on using that from now on. If people don't have QT 7, it will take them a few minutes to download and install it, and its worth it. -tho be warned, if you are using QT Pro, installing QT 7 player over-writes your Pro version and you have to pay for the up...

Re: errrrrrrr...or 103 PLEASE HELP!

Thanx Dan, I'll hava go with the Disk Utility thingy.

You may be onto something with the MIDI thing too, I have had DP say a coupla times lately that the "MIDI System has crashed", but that was during sessions and those files seemed fine.

Re: errrrrrrr...or 103 PLEASE HELP!

Thanx for your reply Gregg, unfortunately, mine isn't exactly the same problem - I don't have a serial adapter, my MIDI interface is a MOTU Micro Express-USB.

Sorry to hear about your troubles tho!

errrrrrrr...or 103 PLEASE HELP!

:( :( :( :( I just got an Error Message w/a reference number of 103. I looked it up on MOTU's support site* and they say it is a file corrupt error. They basically give you two fixes: 1) try to 'load' the sequence(s) from the corrupt file into a new Project, or 2) try to bring the soundbites in from...

Re: 5.1 mix problem with LFE channel

...I think (from memory) that button might be on the upper RIGHT of the panner's GUI, but the suggestion is a good one. you also need to make sure that any panner you are using has that individual fader for the LFE slid up. For some strange reason, when you use a surround panner in DP, it always def...
