Re: strange behavior with a MOTU 828x (Windows 10 & AMD)
This sounds like the same problem I'm having with an 896mk3. I'm running an AMD ryzen. I'm wondering if there's maybe just an incompatibility??

Re: 896 mk3 hybrid crackling noises
I disconnected the 8pre completely and disabled all optical connections on the mk3. Same problem. Oddly, it occurs much more frequently when changing buffer size upwards. At 192 samples things generally run fine with no latency and the PC can handle it. Perfect for tracking. When I increase buffer s...

Re: 896 mk3 hybrid crackling noises
Could you elaborate on that a bit? I have the master clock set to Internal in cubase. That's pretty much the limit of my knowledge of clock settings. I'm also using an 8pre, connected to the mk3 via ADAT.

896 mk3 hybrid crackling noises
I just started using a new AMD Ryzen PC with windows 10 and cubase 10.5. I'm using a MOTU 896 mk3 USB. When I have a session running in cubase, I randomly get crackling and glitching noises and audio dropouts. This can occur as soon as the session opens or at any random time while working in cubase....

No Windows audio
I am unable to get any windows audio to play via my 896 hybrid. In Windows sound settings I have MOTU main outputs selected as the audio output. Up until last week, this worked fine. Everything including browser, Winamp, YouTube and Spotify sound went into the 896. For some reason now, nothing will ...

Can't install new drivers
I use an 896 hybrid and just bought a microbook 2. I plugged the microbook in and was told the drivers were not installed. So I used the installation disc which immediately came up with an error message. "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click to t...

896 hybrid bsod
Brand new custom laptop. Cubase 6. Installed latest motu drivers. When I start cubase i get bsod. If i have Cubase running on generic asio then switch over to motu asio, same thing occurs. I'm not a computer engineer so i dont have a clue what to do. Throwing all the gear out the window would be good.

896 hybrid
Does anyone have any experience using one? I currently have a firewire only version and am generally happy with it (despite the phantom power giving up). I'm going to switch to a laptop setup and as i cant get a TI firewire laptop, im considering upgrading to the hybrid interface. I've never used us...

Firewire/USB
Need some advice. At the moment i'm running an 896 into my pc via firewire. Also have an 8pre via optical adat. My pc is nearing the end of its life and i would prefer to replace it with a laptop for more portable recording. However, the problems with firewire in laptops is pretty well documented. S...

Re: 896 Mk3 and 8Pre Phantom Power
Im trying various condensor mics and numerous different xlr cables in all of the mic inputs on both units. Phantom power may or may not work. It was working yesterday but on previous experience it is entirely possible that today it will not work when i try it. But then i could go back this evening a...

896 Mk3 and 8Pre Phantom Power
I made what's turning out to be a terrible mistake by using an 896 mk3 and 8Pre setup. Phantom power on the mk3 works almost none of the time and the 8pre is heading the same way. Has anyone experienced this? And has anyone any experience of motu tech support? I would imagine they'd be quite busy if...

I should also point out that the Installing New Hardware update is currently hanging at "Rolling back action". Any advice?

Just upgraded to windows 7
I previously used my 896 with XP 32 bit with no problems. I had to do a fresh install to get windows 7. Ive also fitted a new TI firewire card to run my TC powercore. I connected the 896, via the new firewire card just to make sure it works, and the device has appeared in the device manager, albeit ...
