Mac.Mac or Win? It makes a difference?
The most time consuming way is in DP. There are better, faster ways.

MP3 Versions
Hi all,
This is probably a silly questions, but what is the best way to make mp3 versions of final mixes? After I bounce the .wav, should I just then bounce an mp3 version in DP? Is there a better may to do this - another app?
Thanks!

Re: Exporting - mp3 vs. m4a
Thanks for the info. Sorry I completely used the wrong terminology. I wasn't "exporting" I was "bouncing" to .mp3 and/or .m4a. So do you suggest bouncing the final mix track in the session format (ie. 48K, 24 bit .wav), and then taking that file and opening it in TwistedWave (or ...

Exporting - mp3 vs. m4a
Hi all, Just wondering if I could get some help on the different codecs that we can exporting. Often times people want a .mp3 or .m4a version of a piece. 1. I believe .m4a is better, correct. 2. When selecting .m4a - there is a "Core Audio Export: Apple MPEG-4 Audio" and a "Apple MPEG...

Re: 88-Key Controller
Thanks for all the replies. One last quick question. Thinking of either the Yamaha P-125 or P-515, neither of which has a slider or wheel. If I pick up something simple like the Korg NanoKontrol2 https://www.korg.com/us/products/computergear/nanokontrol2/ , would that add the MIDI functionality for ...

Recording from Internet
So I have a weird question. I have a student who is performing in an online recital (since we can't do anything in person) and is using a piano accompaniment that is online. The problem is that it is a baroque sonata, so it is a large AB work, where that A and B sections do a literal repeat - so a n...

88-Key Controller
Hi all,
My trusty (and old) Yamaha KX-88 has given up the ghost, so I'm in need of a new 88-key controller. I want weighted keys, and I don't need much MIDI control capabilities.
Any recommendations?
A quick look at Sweetwater shows the StudioLogic SL-88 and the M-Audio Hammer 88, as options.

Backup Strategy
Just wondering what the best backup strategy is in 2019? Not talking about OS, but rather archiving old DP files, Finale files, etc. Is it worth burning to DVD anymore? Or do you just park old files on hard drives?

USB Hub
Hi all, First thanks for all the help with the questions I've had. Got my Mac Mini and am getting it setup, and I have a question about a USB hub. I need a few extra ports for my "slow speed" devices - keyboard, MidiExpress XT and backup hard drive. For these devices, would it matter if i ...

Re: SSD Enclosure
I guess a better, and more succinct question is, can my Samsung 840 EVO SSD utilize an USB 3.1 Gen 2 enclosure?

SSD Enclosure
Hi all, Geting a new Mac Mini, and I'm going to pull out the SSD that is the boot drive on my old Mac Pro, and make it into an external "project drive". It's a Samsung 840 EVO. My question is, if I use an enclosure with a USB 3.1 Gen 1, or USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface will it matter, or will th...

2408 Question
I'm currently upgrading my system - from old MacPro (4,1) with PCI-424 card and 2408's to a MacMini with a Audient ID22 USB interface. I don't need all the input on the 2408's anymore, but my question is, could I use the 2408's ADAT channels to feed the ID22's ADAT in's? I don't need this right now,...

Re: Mac Mini - i5 or i7
First off, thanks for all the great help. So my current 2009 Mac Pro, is only slightly (and I mean slightly) sluggish on the largest file I've woken on in the last year or so. I have a 2009 MacPro 2x2.26 Quad-core Intel Xeon Here are the benchmark scores for the Mac mini's I'm considering (plus my c...
