Re: Ducking

I wasn't sure if the OP was looking outside of DP for a plugin, but +1 for the NI. Also Waves H-Comp and the very versatile C1 do the trick as well. C1 is very versatile.

Good luck

Re: Ducking

Hi:

While I have limited knowledge of side chain compression and/or ducking, I don't believe the MW Compressor has a side chain input.

The included "Dynamics" in DP does have a an input drop down menu that you can feed the output from a bus to.

Hope this helps.

I wish you were wrong. But I can't come up with an argument.

I think Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree is the only artist I can think of as a compelling argument to this at this moment

Re: Treating high-ceiling room in rental house

There are definitely alternatives to gluing the foam directly to the wall. You could glue the Auralex (or other foam absorbers) to peg board or thin sheets of MDF, and then hang them on the walls. This way you can take them with you wherever you go, and the damage to the walls isn't that great. Kind ...

Re: Toontrack April Sales Promotion

Got the Metal Foundry SDX from Sweetwater. They sent me a box containing the install discs for every Toontrack product. I guess that's how they're doing it now. Pretty cool. So instead of waiting for shipping, you can just purchase the serial number.

Re: Waves 9 NOT COMPATIBLE with DP!

I doubt MOTU will screw us over with the upgrade, and even if they haven't addressed the Waves version 9 compatibility, I'm sure there will be a patch forthcoming. DP8 will not need a "patch." The whole issue is Waves 9 is Cocoa and DP7 is not. I don't see this as a Waves issue at all- we...

Re: Strange problem, could use some help

Hi:

I have this issue when I open a project made on my iMac with a different interface than on my MacBook pro. Have you tried going into Applications|Utilities|Audio MIDI Setup? Make sure the M-Audio is being recognized as a device.

And I knew fully well that there was an issue and went ahead with the upgrade anyway!!! So I was prepared for anything. Like I said in m...

[quote="jpmason"]I upgraded to Waves 9 and like many others, DP7.24 has become a "crash fest" which doesn't always follow the same "rules" for each crash....removing plug-ins is the biggest culprit although command B does seem to work for me (thanks whoever stumbled ove...

Re: Waves 9 NOT COMPATIBLE with DP!

Just to let everyone know, I decided to update my Waves plugs to ver 9 on my recently purchased 2011 MacBook Pro. Don't have any critical projects on this machine. Wanted to get some of those $49 deals before they expired, so I decided to try an experiment. I run DP7.24 and Logic Pro 9.1.6 on this p...

Re: Why do guitarists hate Amplitube?

I love my Guitar Rig as an emulation. I think it's great, but there is nothing like the sound of a Marshall and 4 12" speakers mic'd up. yeah absolutely - but I have neighbours and family who might object. Again though I say that recorded is different to hearing an amp in the flesh. Line 6 amp...
