Re: Automation curser display issue
Thanks Timeline. I don't think that is the same issue I am having. As I have dug deeper, I think this is more of a Mac issue. I've started noticing similar things in Safari and other programs. It looks like it is some kind of bug from a mac update.

Automation curser display issue
Hi everyone! I have noticed an issue with my mouse pointer when using automation. For instance, when I want to drag a MIDI note, I used to see a hand image when pulling note length. Now, it shows it for a split second and goes away, making it difficult to tell if I have chosen the MIDI note correctl...

Re: Way to hear Volume Automation in real time?
When I go over to DP, I went to do the same thing, but I noticed that I have to let go of the dot in order to hear the change in volume.. Is that how it works for everyone? Yes, that's what I get. I guess DP doesn't know what the new volume level is until you let it go. The Live approach would be h...

Re: How Much to Charge?
They already have an amount they budgeted for music. When securing financing for a commercial, they have to put an amount down. Just ask them what they have budgeted. Then, decide if that figure needs to go up or down. That is how I handle it. :) Also, don't be afraid to walk away if the money isn't...

Re: Zoom with Scroll wheel?
I use the mac feature of holding control and using the wheel to zoom in. My eyes aren't so good these days and I never seem to have an extra set of glasses nearby. So, I am constantly zooming in and out on my screen just so I can see better. :) Other suggestions posted here work great and are probab...

Re: Quantizing acoustic guitar audio
I had pretty good success with it on a sort of jazzy acoustic guitar rhythm. I just wanted to tighten it up, so I quantized beats within soundbites and set the sensitivity to 70%. It worked really well. It sounded very natural and I had no clicks or anything like that. I do remember having to work w...

Bob Katz talks a bit about the final technique to eek the last 2 or 3 db of loudness - clipping http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FVF9vRLyVc Scary stuff. (he calls it "egregious") Nice talk. He concludes: "Please folks, let's drop our weapons. We're killing the music." Absolutely ...

Re: Copying Tracks (Aux) In To Multiple Sequences
Thanks for the replies guys! What a hassle, guess I don't understand way I can't just select, copy and paste these tracks into another sequence. That would be to easy I guess?! I think that would be a great feature. This is just a matter of learning the way DP likes to do it and the clipping window...

Re: Need to see if I'm nuts (from a reluctant loudness warri
People have got to get past this loudness thing. It's destroying music. Engineers have to start educating their clients. I know a well respected mastering engineer who always asks, "Do you want this to sound good or do you want it to sound loud? You can't have both, no matter what anyone tries...

Re: DP8 64bit, AlphaTrack & Mavericks Compatibility?
Good question. I'd love to know this as well. I bought the AlphaTrack because they updated it. Hopefully, it will work. But, if it doesn't, I'm hoping they will update it for free, especially for those that paid extra for the last update.

Re: Will an iMac do for Scoring on DP?
I am running a late 2010/early 2011 i7 Imac with 16gb ram and have no problem running Omnisphere. I usually don't have more than 5 or 6 Omnisphere tracks running at one time though. I imagine you could overload it, but I haven't had any problems here. In fact, I am quite amazed at how well the Imac...
