Re: Third Party 1394 bus controller drivers for XP and Vista
I've been trying the IRQ approach. And I haven't had any luck so far. I've noticed that my Firewire IRQ is shared with about 4 other things. So I changed my bios to allow windows to assign IRQ's for PnP devices, and none of the irq settings changed. So I tried to do what this fellow from this thread...

Re: Cuemix FX with 2 Firewire devices
I use an 896mk3 and an 8pre and they show up as their own separate windows in cuemix. I'm not sure because I haven't dug deeply enough, but I don't think you can route the 8pre inputs to the 896's main outs. seeing as how they are different devices, and the 8pre has it's own main outs. Personally I ...

Re: 2010/01/04 32fw-3.7.37320 new drivers and FW daisy-chaining!
I think I may have a related problem. I took my rig out to our gig last night to give it a run and see what happened. I have an 896mk3 and an 8pre.. I have no idea what firmware version is running on the 8pre ( got it 2nd hand ) and the 896 is running 1.01. The 8pre is plugged into the 896 via firew...

Re: Windows Sounds through Firewire Interface?
I'm also running 7 64-bit. My I use Cubase 5 for my DAW and there is an option in the device properties to allow other programs to use the MOTU when it is inactive or in the background. I can't remember exactly what the checkbox says but its pretty much as you describe. I'm assuming you would use cu...

Windows Sounds through Firewire Interface?
I did a search and couldn't find anything on the subject. The search function also seems to ignore the quotation marks around my query so it still searched for WINDOWS or SOUNDS rather than "WINDOWS SOUNDS" .. so here goes. Is it possible to route your normal windows OS sounds through the ...

Re: None of the solutions on this forum work for me EDIT: SOLVED
Well after a few more problems and even one BSoD ( I haven't seen one in over 2 years since I was running windows XP ) I managed to get it working. As it turns out the MOTU Asio driver isn't called an ASIO driver in the device manager. And once I finally had my firewire settings set up properly it r...

Re: None of the solutions on this forum work for me.
well after screwing around for another couple of hours and unin/reinstalling the motu drivers from the CD about 4 times this is the situation. The drivers installed themselves correctly once I switched on the 896. but It only installs 2 of the 3. MOTU audio MIDI and MOTU audio Wave. In the device ma...

Scroll down to the 4th post to see solution. Everything before that is me having a hissy fit. Hi guys. Before you get paranoid about this being my first post please understand I've been lurking for a week and none of the fixes that are posted have worked for me. Right now I can't even try a differen...
