Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
MOTU, just upgrade the CueMix software so it can "learn" MIDI control data like all of the other software released in the last five years. it's not that simple though, is it? every host has it's own way of dealing with MIDI control surfaces, and there are compromises made everywhere you l...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
fishmonkey: Sadly, while your explanation may be dead on, it doesn't help me in the least. I am not as versed in sysex syntax or MIDI minutia. Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
the Mackie Control protocol is proprietary, and before buying a real life Mackie Control Universal i wrestled with many different Mackie Control emulations. the truth is that most MC emulations are half-baked, and generally only support a small subset of the available MC functionality, and often inc...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
So, from this discussion it seems that MOTU is claiming that Cuemix will work with controllers that have Mackie Control and/or HUI emulation modes, but many of us have found that this is simply not true. If anyone has read or otherwise heard from MOTU specifically about this false claim and NOT sim...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
sorry, this is not correct, although it is true that the MOTU documentation regarding control surface setup is scanty and poor. I'm sorry that you're sorry, but my statements are indeed correct, and thoroughly researched. Curiously, this week I tried to use the excellent OpusLocus application "...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?
No, this is not the case. CueMix has an antiquated port structure, and will only recognize actual MIDI ports. The rest of the industry has gone to virtual and USB-based MIDI interfacing (which Digital Performer supports, as well as all industry standard DAWs), but for some reason the CueMix softwar...
