Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
No, I'm not making patch changes on the keyboard. I went to Modulo and picked from a Bank and a patch there. What you told me yesterday worked: and I'll do what you mentioned above here today as well. I just haven't had this problem before and wonder why the Leopard upgrade would cause that. Should ...

Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
Yes, it's an old keyboard and connected to a fastlane USB which is connected to my Intel I Mac.
Everything worked just fine until I upgraded from Leopard 10.5.6 to 10.5.8. I am running DP 6.0.2.

Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
Hi Phil,
Say my Yamaha PS530 were sending out a patch change. What would I do to stop that from happening?

Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
Hi Phil,
Thanks for this. Why would this be any different from the MIDI monitor window in DP? doesn't that do the same thing?

James,
Sorry! yes, when I did what you told me to do it worked. The bank and patch stayed the same and didn't change. I just wondered why that happened? Thanks so much for your help!!

Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
James,
Forgot to mention that there was nothing in the patch column, no instrument selected. It was blank.

Re: Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
Thanks so much for your help! Why was this the problem? I don't understand this: "Also double check that you haven't somehow embedded a patch change in the MIDI track either." And, now the sound doesn't end at the end of the piece. Keeps playing the last few notes even after I hit the stop...

Patches in Virtual Instruments Changing on Their Own
I'm working on a new file in DP 6.0 using Leopard 10.5.8 on an Intel I Mac and I just reinstalled DP because I had an Archive and Install done at my shop for other reasons. I'm using Modulo and when I hit play or record the patch returns to the default which in this case is: 1 Synth/Midnight. I comp...

Re: Peculiar External Drive and Performer Issue?
So I guess no one has encountered a problem like this where the software app in this case DP has some compatibility issue with an external hard drive?

Re: Peculiar External Drive and Performer Issue?
I'd like to mention here that I've been working in Final Cut Studio for a couple of hours and the external drive hasn't ejected once. So, I'm pretty sure it's a DP issue. I just don't know what it could be and I've tried looking up on the web, but so far I haven't found anything. Anyone out there kn...

Peculiar External Drive and Performer Issue?
I have a strange issue that might be related to DP. I recently purchased two external firewire drives, both Rocstor, one 500gig and the other a terabyte drive. Both have this issue, but I'm working right now primarily with the 500gig drive and what happens is that the drive ejects itself from the de...

Re: Why are There Frequent Crashes in Digital Performer 6.0.2
Sorry I didn't mention that. Do you think that DP could cause an external firewire drive to self eject?......that's happening too and I'm looking into it. It happened three times last night while working in DP. I was able to turn the drive off and then on and it came back onto the desktop. Also, whe...

Re: Why are There Frequent Crashes in Digital Performer 6.0.2
Sorry! I do have 4 gigabytes of ram...! my mistake. Yes, I have the updated driver for my Motu828. It hasn't crashed with that powered on, but I haven't really been using it much either. Not right now at any rate. And, yes: I don't have other apps open while working in DP, especially since the crash...

Re: Why are There Frequent Crashes in Digital Performer 6.0.2
James,
I didn't go from OS 9 to Leopard. I have three machines and one is OS X as well. This one I have DP on is a new machine. And, I am running OS 10.5, not later versions.
