Slow-forward PLAYBACK
Hi, here goes any DP cred I had but does anyone know how to get slow playback to work? Like where it plays half-speed, like a slowed-down tape. It was number keypad 6 forever then it changed. I could re-assign it in old versions and now I can't figure it out at all - "6" on the keypad is a...

Re: MOTU Trim Plug-In (issue + suggest alternatives?)
Thanks both. I'm just reporting what I see - increased in time from (say) a kick drum hitting to the meter bouncing accordingly in Trim. Try this - maybe you'll see the same. if you don't, please let me know. And yes Bays I did that first time I noticed the issue...I did a null test and it passed. I...

MOTU Trim Plug-In (issue + suggest alternatives?)
Hi. I come on here and complain about DP but I also just got a new Mac and can't wait to see if any problems resolve. So far it's snappier (M1 Mini) but a lot of the crap I was dealing with previously persists. One that really irks me is the MOTU Trim plug-in. I often put one on every track when rec...

Re: Another weird one - L/R phase issues (now w/ video)
Thanks! It's true, I thought of plug-ins but I don't have anything too exotic going on and it's so random (and I use the same "core" of 12 or so plugs all the time) - and across so many generations of DP and Macs - that it sure seems like DP. Maybe the strongest argument is that no other D...

Re: Another weird one - L/R phase issues (now w/ video)
PS: Apologies the video was set to "Private." I've made it "Unlisted" so anyone can view. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iV_HFUSrBc This is a really old video but the same thing happens now, albeit with a much slicker setup than I had then (back then it was 3 interfaces connect...

Re: Another weird one - L/R phase issues (now w/ video)
Hi. Interesting tidbit that - but no, buffer size was not changed in this project unless I am having a memory lapse. That's a crazy bug. I've restarted a go-go...it is driving me crazy. Thanks for the advice and keep any feedback coming if anyone has other ideas. I'll probably write MOTU but they ar...

Re: Another weird one - L/R phase issues (now w/ video)
Years later this is happening again - L/R are off to the point where it sounds like a slapback. All one stereo recording in on a previously-fine bundle. Different computer (2015 MacBook Pro). New DP (11, have to check version at studio). New audio interface (Aurora Lynx (n) 24 i/o, one box via Thund...

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
Hey, just checking back, yes agreed on even slightly ramped changes better than vertical. I just couldn't affect ramp size/rate/whatever with Automation Preferences and that was the point and I guess vertical change seemed like a good example of what I wanted to do. If I said ramp it might have been...

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
I abandoned doing that many years ago because it was imprecise with non-scalable faders, but you've got me psyched to try this again! Thank you so much. That was a blind spot for me and can't wait to try it when I'm back to work next week.

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
Thanks for the replies and interesting ideas. I don't understand the code behind DP, so you may be right about specifying conditions that the other automation write modes don't satisfy. That said, I don't know why it wouldn't have a position - that is, I'm hitting enter and that value is going in at...

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
Thanks but I don't think I understand what would qualify a sustain pedal in particular - isn't it a binary? What if more than on value is needed? Oh, you mean "sustaining" a controller? Interesting but I'm not sure how to make that work. And, honestly, it seems batshit to have to do that t...

Re: How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
@mike always helpful to see a video to illustrate the technique you describe. However I'm trying to do this in real time like "dub mixing" - it would be great to be able to do this sans ramps. I don't quite get why they have Automation Settings that don't include something like this...like...

How do you do instant (no ramp) automation changes
Hi. I've read the manual, searched the board and I'm still needing some help on something that seems so basic to me. Hope I'm doing something wrong. I want to type in numbers into automation during playback and have the change happen instantly - in other words, have a vertical line from one value to...

Re: Bring back the Loop tool in DP 10.11
:rtfm: :rtfm: IS there a way to make infinite loops with clips? I mean to be used in the sequence editor, not the Abletonesque clip window. Thanks. :rtfm: :rtfm: As of now, select MIDI or audio, pack into a Clip, then loop, you can zoom out and loop 1500+ measures if you wanted to, so yeah RTFM, es...
