Re: What type(s) of music do you produce with DP?
The obvious reasons? Price, Demographic, and Bundling. Frooty Loops, Reason, Live, and the like are all less expensive, while you are correct about fruity loops ($200), reaper ($70), and renoise ($60), live is $500, reason is $400, and of course logic and cubase are also on par with dp price wise. ...

Re: What type(s) of music do you produce with DP?
That said, I believe the original post was simply interested in the musical directions of the 'nation community, not in what the program can do. correctamundo! i know the program doesn't care what genre you're into. i've just noticed people in the more straight up electronic/dancey genre's seem to ...

What type(s) of music do you produce with DP?
Just wondering what types of music people here were into making with DP. I like and try to get better at producing electronic (dubstep/idm/breakcore/dnb/etc.) music but come from a more traditional indie rock band-ish background and have found DP most versatile for that type of stuff thus far (recor...

the problem isn't that it's just too loud for me, the problem is it is going beyond just clipping into full on distorting by default, like almost every patch on 3 different software instruments (reaktor, kontakt, and moog modular V, even when editing samples in peak) push into the red and distort by...

all softsynths/samplers are too loud/distorted by default?
using dp 4.6 and a motu 2408mkII with my dual g5, using reaktor, kontakt, moog modular V, and peak, everything by default is too loud and clipping/distorting, i have to turn every instrument down, i run all the same software (minus dp and peak of course) on a pc in standalone (sequencing from dp on ...

unable to open projects created with dp4.2 in 4.6?
i have a bunch of projects i've created since starting with dp 2.7 when it first came out, but after the last time i backed up my system (moved my projects folder to my windows box because i was reformatting my g5 and un-raiding it to run my 2 hard drives as 2 seperate hard drives) and then when i u...

weird flange when using 2 controller keyboards
i use a novation remote 25 controller into MIDI in A on my usb fastlane and an m-audio keystation 88 into MIDI B on my usb fastlane, as the remote 25 is right next to my computer keyboard and in front of the monitor for quickly messing with sounds and tweaking, and has nice non-hevily weighted keys ...

Re: how to cut down on latency/distortion
any ideas on how i can cut down the latency? Decrease your buffer (figure 5-1, page 21, Getting Started Guide). But, that will increase the CPU utilization, so it's a tradeoff between latency and CPU. i have CPU to spare, huge reaktor ensembles take up at most %20 of the CPU, i just need to make it...

how to cut down on latency/distortion
right now i'm working with dp 4.6 and reaktor 5 and kontakt 2 and moog modular V, first problem would be latency, when i run reaktor/kontakt/moog modular V in standalone i have pretty much no latency, when i run it as an intrument in dp i get a decent ammount of latency (enough to make it very clums...
