Re: Alpha track needs to be reset each session
Sounds like it could be some kind of power management issue. If you're on Mavericks something to try - do Get Info on the AlphaTrack Manager and make sure Prevent App Nap is checked. Just a shot in the dark.

Re: DP 8.06 crashes on exit? Windows 7
In my experience, crash on quit is usually related to a plugin. What non-MOTU plugs are you using in the session? Disable those and see what happens. I suppose it could also be the audio driver, but you can change the Hardware Config to another ASIO device (i.e. ASIO4ALL) or Windows Audio and see if...

Ctrl-alt-T to bring up the Time Formats window. There you can select default formats or setup custom rulers/formats that will include the info you want.

Re: There is no Instrument plug in found. Please help...
The two most common locations depending on if you are running 64 or 32 bit are:
C:\Program Files\Vstplugins
C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins
I believe that both Vienna and NI installers default to those.

Re: iOS Recording apps
I use Voice Memos to capture the inspired moments and you should already have it. It syncs with iTunes (though that is somewhat sketchy) or you can email/message it to you or whoever from the app. It's a .m4a file and is only single track, but you can drag-drop those into DP.

Re: The file was not saved...try save to another disc...blab
Since you're trying to be cross platform, there is no 7.xx version available for the PC, so that could be source of some issues - i.e. last I looked at 7.xx (which was a while ago) it was still maintaining two session files - one with and one without the .dpdoc extension. IMHO, currently the best di...

Re: The file was not saved...try save to another disc...blab
Try reformatting to ExFAT or HFS+ to see if that clears things up. It may be a speed issue . . . or try switching USB ports if you haven't already. If you were getting -36 errors, there's a workaround for that, but in that case reformatting to HFS+ would make more sense if PCs aren't involved.

Re: The file was not saved...try save to another disc...blab
If the USB thumb drive is formatted Windows NTFS, unless you have additional software installed on your Mac, it is Read Only. I've been formatting session thumb and external hard drives to ExFat with no problems. ExFat formatting is an option on both the Mac and PC if you're looking for cross platfo...

Re: Cue Mix FX
There are no tabs in CueMix for the 828mkII. You control all functions from the main window and select mix buses from the dropdown selection on the far right titled MIX. There's no DSP so no need to have the tabbed interface.

I have Soundflower installed also. Soundflower was turned into a Google Code project a while back and a couple of things have changed. If you haven't already, you can download the current beta here: http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/
Just something else to check out.

Re: Setting placement of close window
I had this same problem in 7.x, but do not remember if it was ever resolved prior to updating to DP8 where the behavior doesn't occur. Sorry for the lack of help, but just letting you know that someone else had this same problem. Maybe try deleting DP preferences, resetting PRAM - all the usual susp...
