Re: Problem with using Chunks as template

Hi. Thanks for replying. The save as option or opening a new sequence would only work if I'm using the full template to begin with. If I start with strings and decide to add brass later then I'm back to square one because I have to use the load command and pull the chunk into the current project. St...

Problem with using Chunks as template

Hello Motunation. Wondering if anyone has insight on this, arguably, power-user issue. I've been trying to streamline my workflow. One of the major projects has been to create a big orchestral template with full orchestra which I am now breaking down into sections. So let's say I create a file with ...

Re: Sharing V-Racks help

Rocking response. It does work like a charm. The lack of info beneath the "load" function was causing me to give up one step too soon.

Thank you

Sharing V-Racks help

Hi y'all. I read in a forum that you could share V-Racks between projects by using the "load" function under "file" but cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it. To be perfectly clear, I don't mean between chunks or songs, but between different DP projects. Specifically,...

Re: 2 Macs, VE Pro 5 and Effects sends

Thanks Andrew. Yes of course I remember you. I do have the exact same installs on both machines, so that's more a question of my logic versus their logic I think. I did get some help from the VSL forum and I'm about to try it.
Hope all's well
Cheers

2 Macs, VE Pro 5 and Effects sends

Hi y'all. I've gotten great help on this forum before s I thought I'd try my luck again. I cannot find the answer to a particular problem. I'm on DP 9 on a 2012 Mac pro. My old Mac Pro 3.1 was just lying around so I figured I'd use it to run some older 32 bit effects that I never updated and that in...

Re: Delay between VI and audio when record enable is off

Yes I did do a restart and re-install. I should add that if I start a new project with a single audio file and add some VI and MIDI tracks, I don't get that problem. It must be something I'm doing but I can't for the life of me figure out what. Is it the chunks? This project is the mock for my next ...

Delay between VI and audio when record enable is off

Hi nation. Been searching this forum for an answer. I think this appeared in DP 9 for me. If I try to o/dub VIs when audio tracks are present, the VI only plays back in sync when it is record enabled. If I add another instrument and try to play it, the one I just recorded plays back delayed. Here's ...

Re: Need recommandation for PCIe SSD card

Thanks Mike. On my 3.1, the Sata drives average 150 mb/s read and write, the SSDs average 250 MB/s But sometimes, the system chokes a bit, VIs overload the performance meter as I need to keep the buffer relative low because I play in real time into the computer. From previous posts of yours, I got t...

Need recommandation for PCIe SSD card

my 2012 12 core 5.1 arrives next week and I have to set it up right. I have two 500Gb evo SSDs in my current 3.1, one boot one not, connected to one SATA bay and to the second optical drive. My intention was to clone the boot drive to another 500Gb SSD and have a 1Tb SSD for data, and attach both to...

Re: Recommended Mac for Motu setup on moderate budget

Actually, one last question pertaining to all that if I may. My new computer has a APPLE ATI 5770 1GB VIDEO CARD My current 3.1 has a ATI RADEON HD 4870 512 MB Will one perform better than the other? I've compared the specs only to realize that they meant nothing to me :D Should I swap the 5770 for ...

Re: Recommended Mac for Motu setup on moderate budget

Once again Mike, thanks for the most helpful reply.
I don't anticipate moving to Mojave any time soon so no problem there.
I think my mind's made up.
Much obliged.

Re: Recommended Mac for Motu setup on moderate budget

Thank you all for your replies. At this time, and given the budget, I have narrowed it down to A 2012 Mac pro 5.1 12 core with 64gb of memory. The new iMacs are just out of my league, and the interface I was looking at, the UAD Twin duo, only works with TB, Mac pro 6.1 are still way pricier. So I fi...

Re: Recommended Mac for Motu setup on moderate budget

Thanks HCMarkus. Yes I thought about this first but there are several reasons why I'm considering other options. One is that although I like tweaking my Mac, I am not savvy enough to build one from scratch, so I'd have to start with a pre-configured machine and they still run upwards of $1,600 as fa...
